My project horse? Also known as The Closer? If you do, here is the update on him. If not, he is a 2 year old registered ASB stallion that I bought around 6 months ago in pretty bad shape.

I finally got to go see him today. This is the first time I have gotten to see him since he was sent to his trainer. I think Bob is doing excellent! They haven't been riding him that long and have went to great lengths to teach him all the basics that one should now. In other words, the only things he really knew how to do when we sent him up there was to haul and lead. He did those two things REALLY great!

He has been under saddle on working schedule for about 3 weeks now and is getting ready to move to the next stage. That will be change his shoeing on the back and start him racking. For a two year old, he is working better and calmer than I could have ever expected. He is really good in the crossties about being tacked up. Stands dead still for you to get on and off, backs, everything.

He is also looking tons better than he was when he left to go up there.

He lookd beautiful! He is very wide eyed in the still pictures, but after seeing the video's, I can understand why....they were debugging him as he was riding him up and down the stall way. I would have been wide eyed too! LOL

Very nice! Congratulations, he is an awesome horse!

Loved the video~

Can I say how much I envy your barn? It's HUGE! I would love to be able to ride up and down the aisle of a barn like that! How cool!

"Bob" is a really beautiful boy, ASB ... and I admire that you took an abused horse and rehabilitated him ... but he's still a baby! I sure wish you'd put off any training that involves weight on his back for another year or so. No way can his growth plates be closed at this tender age.

In all actuality, by his knees he was ready to ride when we got him but decided to wait until we got some weight on him. I hate to put a horse to work that doesn't feel up to it. He just has gotten up to weight enough to start riding. He has been working on ground basics for a few months and just basically taking their time with him.

He will be three in a few months and then he will move onto start racking. He is just now getting all his forward cues under saddle down pat then we will move on a step. Alot of folks start riding them before they ever turn two but I just can't. I would rather have a horse that is a good consistent aged horse than a good young horse. We just see so many of them burnt out that I hate to take that chance.

He looks as nice as Merlin our ASB stallion.
