I love happy endings. Our token quarter horse, Prince, is owned by a wonderful young woman who unfortunately, due to some life changes, is moving to California. She is heartbroken at the prospect of selling Prince. She wants him to stay here at his happy home with his horsey friends where she can come visit him. I am willing to keep him for her, but I don't really need and can't really afford yet another horse. But my daughter's 4H leader came to the rescue and brought over a lovely young girl and her parents today and this nice family has agreed to lease Prince and take over his board payments! So Prince gets to stay in his happy home with his horsey friends and the people that love him. The best part is that the little girl didn't even know that her parents were bringing her here to look at a horse. When she came in the barn we asked her if she would like to ride Prince. Of course she said "yes" and after she rode him a while her mom asked her if she wanted him to be her horse. She was stunned! So Prince has a new human to love him, and a little girl has her very own 1st horse and Prince's old owner can go to CAL and know Prince is here waiting for her to come back some day and visit with him. Cool uh?

(I suspect the happy ending to this little story had a very involved author.)

We will be signing the "papers" today. But she has already been out to ride him 3X this week! The neighbor girl brings her pony over and my daughter and her friend hop on my horses and the 4 girls play in the ring for more than an hour. Poor Prince that is more work than he has gotten in a year. But they clearly love each other. She bought him a purple saddle blanket. Kinda clashes with his chestnut coat, but hey it works for me. It is a good match! I think I'll try to haul all 4 or 5 kids and their horses to the Christmas parade on Dec 2nd. :D
