I know I'm not officially a forum leader for this one, but I jsut happenend to notice that there hasn't been a fresh post on here since Oct 18!!!

Well here's topic for duscussion: jumping, or some facsimile there-of.
ie: Indi's new owner, Keith, emailed me last week, seems this meek and gentle mare doesn't like being left behind when the horses are put back out after feeding. She jumped her stall door, and not too deftly. She got a little hung up and scraped her .. belly. Keith was optimistic though, thinks there might be an opportunity for Versatility classes with her - if he can get her legs to learn to go over where the fronts have went, lol.

Rio did the same thing when he was 5-6 mos old. Jumped his door when we had finished giving his shots. No warning. We were standing there chatting and makig friendly with him, telling him how good he was for taking his shots like a man, and all of a sudden he hauls back and launches. He got hung up too, but since he's started work, he does enjoy jumping over stuff even if he hits his back hooves on it, he'll happily turn around for a do-over!

My older gelding Medias, now that horse loves jumping. I don't. And he knows it. On a trail ride several years ago, we came to a BIG tree accross the trail. There was already a nice path going AROUND it, but he refused to do that. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Jumped that sucker and it was easily a 4 footer. I found out that he gaits supremely when my knees are shaking!!
