Big Welcome! There are a few of us here now! I'm not in KY but not too far in S. Indiana close to Louisville, KY. Do you trail ride? Show? I dream of a day when we have enough in the area to get to have weekend just for fun rides to brag about on the list.
Tell us more about you and your horses! :hello

Thanks for the welcome party!
Britz,
I work in public accounting and the rest of the time is spent on the horses. I have one son, Ty, that is 11 years old. He tolerates the horses but is not interested in riding, showing, etc. He does clean the water buckets nightly and gives the horses hugs.
My husband, Charlie, loves the horses too. I am trying to get him to show the horses.
I have showed a little last year and this. It is really nerve wrecking. But I really loved showing my mare, Anja. This was the first year I showed her myself. I started riding her 2 weeks before Wilmington. I ended up winning the performance championship on Friday and Saturday!! I was so thrilled. Everyone talked me into taking her to Nationals.
I ended up with a honorable mention at Nationals. I was very excited to be able to stay with that group of mares. I had never been in a class that big. I could not get her to the rail so that she could set up and work. I flew past everyone!! LOL! I know she was in gait and I guess she did get notice!
I have 2 wonderful stallions that I bought that were long time pasture mates when they were younger. I would have never dreamed of owning either one back when they were showing.
I also bought the mother of Aldeano de Sol Reye, Gaira de Nevado. She is such an awesome performance horse. I have only used her for a broodmare. I have 2 foals from her. Both colts. I just took the oldest one to the trainer last week. He is a beautiful buckskin with the best attitude. I have another colt from her this year that is spittin' image of Nevado.
I could talk all day about horses!! I better let you all read this much for now. :D

Your horses sound wonderful. I really look forward to seeing your buckskin. I am partial just a tad. ;-)
And I can feel your pain about the nerves in the ring. I get them pretty bad too. But I'm getting better.
And Britz- I think you are just horse crazy period.

I will try to post pictures later. I may need help. I have read where someone else needed help and I will use that to go by.
I am about 3.5 hours from Louisville but my buckskin is in training in Shelbyville. I am in Shelbyville usually around once a month. So maybe we could get together. I will be going up there next weekend or the following.
I LOVE the performance horses too!! They are my all time favorite. I love the power and brio that they offer.

Welcome Notorio! Sounds like you have some really nice pasos. Can't wait to see some pics! And congrats on doing so well on your first show season. Sounds like your mare is awesome!!! I also have a son your age. Mine is 12. He likes the horses, but isn't really interested in riding that much. My daughter is 8 and she just started taking riding lessons and she has become horse crazy. So I think she will soon be my riding buddy! I have 3 pasos. Thank goodness I only have 3 stalls or I could end up with as many as you very easily! LOL

This is my colt from Gaira de Nevado this year. I think he looks just like Nevado. He even has the white hair in the base of his tail.

Welcome!
You have some very lovely Paso Finos. (Feel free to share photos anytime.) ;-)
We recently purchased a Paso Fino gelding from Kentucky, and I was curious... how cold does it get in Kentucky? Our new gelding has adapted very well to our cold Montana winter. (Paso Finos are so hardy!) :!:
