I measured Capri yesterday, at 6 monhs and 10 days old. He was 12.1 hands on the measuring stick and just a little over 389 pounds on the weight tape. That seems about average for a Paso his age, doesn't it?

I also tried to get some updated photos, but he didn't want to cooperate. When I took him out to the paddock, first he kept trying to stick his nose through the camera strap. (Maybe he thought it was a strange looking halter and he was trying to be helpful.) Then I tried and tried to get him to stand still so I could take his picture, but I kept getting this as he followed me:

So finally I had to lead him back into the pen, and this was the best I could do:

I measured my filly a few weeks ago, she was 7 1/2 months at the time and she was 12.2 hands and 400 lbs.

 !!! I tell you though...that is how I like to see them, Vicki...not wanting to leave you alone. There's something wrong when they beat it to the other end of the pasture or pen when a human enters the gate.

He's adorable! :D

paso chikkaaaa.

I've got the perfect twin to him...a double Capuchino granddaughter...black, just like that...only without the extra "appendage"...

His mom's name is La Danesa de Historica (Orgullo del Arabe out of La Negra Consentida). His dad's name is Anfitrion de Bochica (Anfitrion del Conde out of La Sangre de Bochica). He's a Capuchino grandson, and he has a lot of Resorte in his lines. I have him registered as black, but I'm still thinking he might be dark black dun (someone said it's called lobo dun) -- he still has the doral stripe, markings on all four legs (which are only visible in certain lighting), zebra striping on his neck (which I didn't realize might be a dun marking until I read it recently) and markings around his ears (which you can see in these photos). I'm curious to see how he sheds out in the spring. Of course, he could be gray, which would wipe out anything else -- but there's no evidence of white yet.
