Here, guys! I put together a little montage of my Pinto filly, Pequena, mentioned in the Santana del Cardo post. I've just pulled her in to start working with her and this is her first round pen session...look how nicely she turns for me...first time ever in the round pen. She is so smart, she picks up things on her first lesson! I honestly have never worked with a youngster so easy to train!

Ha...yeah, that was the one thing I said I didn't get much of ...her gaiting..! She DOES gait, and quite nicely too, better than her mother actually, but she was "movin' way too fast" to gait... ;-) :lol:

Hey, Ed, cut me some slack, eh...that's her first time in the round pen, and she's only a yearling! ;-) :D
(I wasn't asking her to turn toward or away from me yet...I was simply asking her to switch directions. :smile: )
Actually we had a halter on her as a baby, and that's about it...well, at the end of this session, I had the halter on her...and by the end of the second session, I had her leading beside me....tonight I had her leading on both sides....
now I'm tellin' ya, I've never had one pick things up this fast! She also has learned to give to pressure on the poll...and yield her hindquarters...

Boy she is very flashy and a nice mover! Pretty good for her first time in the round pen. The music is cute.....my favorite picture of her is the very first one from the front....love that view of her!

Good job Carol! I think she will make someone very happy!
