Loganville Parade

We had a really good time. 13 out of the 26 that had committed actually showed, which was still the largest attendance of Pasos I have been involved with. Everyone arrived on schedual and were ready and raring to go. Even the Grinch which almost messed up and almost could not find a face at the last minute. Half way through the parade everything came to a screaching halt and we waited and waited to start again. 4 riders decided to turn around and leave when we got word a child fell off a float and was run over. That is all we know. All our prayers are with the family

The parade got restarted and we all finished fine. Here are some pics

We missed our grouch this yr at our parade, he rides a black mule and is hillarious! Yours was fantastic!! So many paso's,we only had 1 paso this yr in our parade, others were mostly drafts of somekind...

No, I think that particular parade was in Connecticut and involved a Cub Scout or Boy Scout float. (saw a news blurb)

We did have something very similiar happen though...One of the kids on the float ahead of us did fall off the float and his ankle was run over...I don't believe he died though. There was a hold up for about 30 minutes or so and that is what we were told the delay was.

I'VE GOT NEWS ABOUT THE LOGANVILLE PARADE ACCIDENT!!!!!

Kenny came home from work this evening and told me the accident victim is a neigbor of his Assistant Plant Manager, who lives in Loganville. It appears it was a mother who was knocked down and the tandem axle trailer rolled over her leg. What made the injury so bad...was the driver panicked and reversed, rolling over her leg again AND...by doing so...it sucked her ankle up between the tandem tires, rolling it around, (Ack! :shock:) and THAT is what made the break so bad.

Same thing happened in the Griffin Parade. A kid got his leg run over by a float. Supposidly he'll be OK

Wow, we had parade accidents up here too. A 12 yr old in Ellsworth fell walking beside a float and got run over, breaking leg. A 3 yr old girl fell off a float in Freeport, and run over breaking her pelvis. And in NH a 9 yr old boy died when he fell off a float. I can't believe all the accidents, I have never heard of things like this happening before. I'm sure from now on, people will be extra cautious with kids in parades!

Our parade had an accident too. I heard there was a 7 yo girl run over by a float after falling off but have not found out any information yet. This is awful that so many are getting hurt trying to celebrate the holidays!
