I got to ride in this fun event on Saturday. 8-) It was very fun to participate.
The event was supposed to start at 3 in the afternoon. But like typical latin style they didn't depart until 5.

We strated at Hacienda 4 Aces and rode thru the streets accompanied by the police, and we stopped for a while at a neighborhood restarant for drinks and empanadas. Then we rode back and enjoyed live music and food at the farm. 8-)

Wow! So that is a Miami style trail ride! The horses look so well-behaved with all that traffic; they must be used to it. Those are wonderful pics...thanks for posting!

Yes, Lynn, the horses are very well behaved w/the traffic.
Some cars were even beeped at us. And at one point, an abulance went by w/it's sirens blarring.

Wow, that looks like fun. How many riders were there in all? Looks like a pretty good crowd!

I didn't get a head count, but I'd say between 30-45? maybe more. You should have heard the sound of all the hoof beats at the same time. 8-)

What a great event. Did you have to have a permit to ride on the road? I'd LOVE to ride an event like that :D I'll miss riding in a Christmas parade this year, for sure.

I don't know about the permit. But we did have a police escort holding back traffic.

Abbie, on your way down, stop and pick me up!!!! That looks like way to much fun and I'm a wee bit off of winters this year - spoiled by the warm weather we had, but it was too muccy to make use of good days. I need a BREAK! Getting saturated with Paso lovers wouldn't hurt one bit. Great pics!

Lori who sponsored it??? what street was it on?

Rodrigo Brand was in charge of organizing it. I believe Hacienda 4 Aces, Los Caballos de May, Showtime Paso Fino Magazine, and possibly a few others sponsored it. But they charged each rider $30 towards the band and the food they had catered in.
