Just received Robin Ratliff's Presidential Campaign letter in an email (a miracle in itself since I have to write everything offline, log on, and post quick before I get knocked offline!)

If you have not received a copy, email me and I will be happy to send you a copy in .doc or .pdf form - please specify. My internet connections are not good, so I may not be able to get your emails except very late at night here when 'traffic' is slow, so please be patient - I will get the info out to you.

Remember, if you are a PFHA member and have not joined a region - you _will_ be assigned to your 'local' region whether you agree with their voting practices/opinions or not. If you choose to throw you vote to another region which is more attuned to your needs, you can, but must notify PFHA in writing _soon_. The other alternative is to send your official/signed/notarized proxy with someone you trust who will be at the January meeting - in person - with instructions as to how you want your vote cast for the various executive positions that are being decided....

Your individual vote is absolutely critical - make sure it gets cast according to your wishes! Pass this along to other members ASAP and let's get more individuals actively involved!

There is an absentee ballot in this issue of PFHW. People wanting to vote seperate of their region should avail themselves of this avenue.

The absentee ballot doesn't need to be notorized does it?

Not according to the rule book. I think you fill it out with your name, PFHA#, and region affiliate (what region you're in) and send it to PFHA.

It is rumored that Southern Regional, Ozark and Southwestern - among other regional groups - will be voting their votes for President as a block.

If you belong to any of those groups and want to be sure _your_ vote is cast for the candidate of _your_ choice.... you _must_ send in an absentee ballot to BE RECEIVED by PFHA no late than JAnuary 10th. Spend the extra 35¢ - or however much it is - for a return receipt requested so that you _know PFHA received your ballot in time. With all that has gone on - and continues to happen - there is no reason not to take this extra precaution.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY - IF YOU LIVE IN THE AREA OF ANY OF THESE 'VOTE BY BLOCK' regions and DO NOT BELONG to that group.... THEY STILL 'OWN' YOUR VOTE ...........UNLESS you send in an absentee ballot!!! So - don't assume that your vote won't count because you don't belong to a region - the REGION 'OWNS' your vote if they vote as a block - UNLESS you send in a timely-dated absentee ballot or tell PFHA - in writing - that you want your vote assigned to another region.

Now - more than ever - is the time to stand up for members' rights - don't let your vote get hijacked!

I can send you a .pdf file (thank goodness it's small! :-) ) of the current absentee ballot.... by email.

If you know PFHA members who are in the aforementioned regions (or any other regions) who want to guarantee that their voices are heard - please contact them immediately and have them fill out an absentee ballot ASAP!

This is yet another rule that needs to be changed!

What's a BOD meeting with voting privileges by rule?
A region delegate carries YOUR vote at ALL meetings!
It matters not if you active in your region or not. By default members are assigned regions by zip code. UNLESS you designate a different region OR you designate yourself as "non-designated".

How is this different from a membership meeting?
It's NOT.
A membership meeting, the region delegate still carries YOUR vote.
Find out about YOUR region's voting practices during the membership meeting. Make sure the region votes YOUR vote or send in an absentee ballot.

It's easy and simple to do. No notary is required. Simply fill it out and mail it in.

Isn't it worth 35 cents to know that your voice was heard and counted?
