Thank you Barb P for sharing these wonderful photos of Contrpunto that your daughter Dianne took in 1981 when she visited Colombia.

No disrespect intended, but isn't that Contrapunto...at least the bottom pic? Gorgeous horse...and I'd LOVE to see all the pictures she took while she was there. Oh to have been a fly on her hat!

You are so right... I had Bochica on the brain and it took so dang long up load the pix. I'll fix it now. Thanks Kerry.

Didn't mean to be school marmish. Barb was gracious enough to send me that lower photo a while back, or I wouldn't have known. ;-)

wonderful pictures. its memories like these that should be passed on to new people in the breed. most of us never will encounter one of these greats that we see in mostly all the pedigrees !

thanks for sharing Barb!

You are all welcome but I had to have Lori put in on for me. Contrapunto was in her Echo's pedigree.
I did not bring Coral LaCE to this country. Mr. La Hood did but it was said that Coral laCE was the horse for the American people. I just saw his offspring and was fortunate Mr. La Hood, Mr. Noyas and Betty Klein gave him up. I have loved this type of paso so much. I have been trying to breed this type of paso with great range of gait for over 25 years. I also have the fino Plebeyo stallions that Lori tells me she is going to come up and ride sometime. Believe me we will get those pics on too even if I have to e-mail them to someone who can post. Barb Preiss

I had the pleasure of riding Barb's Plebeyo son, great horse with a motor twice as big as him. Was a joy to ride. I have two pics of him

Thanks for the pictures of Contrapunto! I have a daughter of his, Contramaravilla Victoria, in foal to Plebeyo Dos as well as a colt of hers sired by Amadeus. He certainly was a gorgeous stallion!

Marilyn, Dianne got to ride a wonderful Contrapunto daughter while in Col. Her name was Contra Ya . She rode her and the trainer then allowed Dianne to ride Contrapunto himself. I have those pics too.
Thanks to Hollis for his nice comment on my Plebeyo de Otra de Vez. His dam was Otra Vez that was the daughter of Frio Viento. She also defeated the multi grand in fino in the state and many times through out the year. Barb Preiss

Barb, go ahead and rub it in on all the great horses Diane got to ride....

By the way, how's the pinto mare doing and did you get her colt registered?

Lori, You can kindly pick me up on your way to BarbP's to ride! I've been there and my appetite is already wetted! ;-)

I rode Candee tonight, It is always a pleasure to ride that wonderful Coral LaCE line!

I knew Barb was not the original owner that brought Coral LaCE to America, but she was sure lucky enough to get her hands on him and put many many wonderful horses on the ground from him! We thank you for that Barb! You have been very true to those wonderful bloodlines!

Batman, yes, Dianne was fortunate enough to go to Col. with 42 other breeders. Gerald Knight was such a wonderful promoter of the breed and arranged these trips for PFOBA. He also let them know that Dianne trained as well as was a judge and had ridden many of those little wild Paso mares we caught out of that 2,000 acre pasture to Fl State Champions. She came home speaking about how beautiful the farms were etc. as well as the horses.

Marilyn, yes , we got the colt registered and he is huge as well as gentle by Black Night Mako. Mr. Turpin owns him as well as the paint mare. We put a month under saddle on her prior to her delivering the colt. When Wayne died over three years ago, I said , "OK, no more foaling!!!!!" Mr. Turpin buys a paint mare in foal. And I only foaled out 16 this year!. How's that for being firm?????

For those that saw Tammy, the little orphan filly, she is the one that I am "MOM" to. I love he so much. She belongs to Mr. Firman. Barb Preiss

Barb,

Mr. Turpin is such a sweet man, but a little graphic with his surgery problem description...LOL

I bought Black Knight's full sister, a black mare named Night Magic Mako (Alicante x Rincona LaCE) and am trying to decide whether to breed her to Tikal de Nevado, Plebeyo Dos or try for a pinto with a pinto stallion I have in Georgia. I think someone mentioned she might have been shown when younger, but don't remember the story. Do you remember the mare at all? What bloodlines would you cross her with? I also have Delirio and Saladin de Alexandra (PPR Don Neco chestnut son).
