SQUEAKS

Being 65 years old I have seen several Christmases come and go and I have had a majority of wonderful Christmas presents through the years. This year has to be one of the best. To start off with my one son-in law gave me a new wallet and inside was a picture of Ben Franklin.
Next because both Grace and I are retired law enforcement officers so we obviously watch law enforcement programs on TV. We were watching TV a few nights ago and in one case they were highlighting an interview came on with a man named John Balshy a homicide investigator with the Pennsylvania State Police.
Now John Balshy is the single person responsible for my education in law enforcement photography and the number one reason I was able to become a supervisor of a state crime lab. Just about everything I learned about police photography he taught me.
I immediately got on the phone and called him and asked him if I could get his autograph since he was now a famous person on worldwide TV. We rehashed many of our old memories and cases him and I worked on and before he hung up he said he would comply with my request and send me his autograph.
What I recieved was more than I could have asked for. It was a simple Christmas card and inside was written.
"Bob I am proud to call you my friend. If it had not been for you many cases we prosecuted would have put guilty men back on the streets. Thank You. You did what was needed to serve justice for all."
Merry Christmas to you and Grace
Your friend
John
PS: Remember the old saying (God watches out for fools and drunks.)
I am not a fool anymore and from what Grace tells me neither are you. Have a great Christmas and we'll be down to Florida for a visit. Both of us have paid our dues and now we get the rewards....hangovers.
