I got a call today from one of the places I had applied for a job with. The have given me a preliminary offer for a Planner II, Development Services Planner job. All I have to do is take a drug test tomorrow and the job is mine after I pass. I am very excited about this. It will be a pay cut, but I will not have to move around the country and I will be working for a progressive outfit that cares for people! Kevin and I can finally "settle down" and really start making some more long term plans for a small farm and other expansions! Plus, this will set me up in a nice career in a field that is still related to my degree yet is a little different and FUN! I will actually get to work with the public and treat them as friends.

I love the duties of the job I am in now. I get to design trails and recreation areas but there is no heart or soul to the organization. It is backwards and backstabbing. It will be nice to get away from the giant sucking vortex of negativity and dishonesty that I am currently surrounded by!

I would go out and have a drink to celebrate, but I would not want to screw up my drug test ;-)

That is awesome, Mel! I know what it's like to work with a company that has no soul, so I can relate totally to your elation. It is well worth the pay cut to get away from the negativity.

Oooooh, Sandy, haven't had a Fuzzy Navel in ages and almost forgot how yummy they taste. We'll have to make some the next show we run into each other at....when I don't have to drive back to a hotel.

Congrats on the new job, Lexi! Peace of mind is better than money in the long run. I think backstabbing is part of most organizations, though just more obvious in some than in others. I hope it all works out well for you both and you get the farm (and lots of paso finos, too). Don't forget to invite us to your farm/house warming when you get it!

:D They have already offered me the job, I just have to pass the drug test before we can move on and make things concrete. They can't run the paperwork until I am certified "drug free" The funny part about this whole thing is that the whole time that I have worked for the Federal gov't they have never drug tested me. In order to get a job with a county, I have to pass a drug test...Hmmmmmmm

And I have been out of phone contact today because I feel as if my head is going to fall off. The ortho was right when he told me this latest adjustment was going to hurt like the devIl!
