I know I am not eligible to win, but just had to put my favorite in here.
This is Lori at about 6 months of age. She has ALWAYS been in love with her horses.

This is seconds after my sister and I got off the school bus, walked into the back yard and discovered a pony. We had worked all summer selling watermelons and squash from our garden to save enough money to buy one, but we were surprised when he really materialized. This was October 25, 1976.

Here's Bailey and one of the "wild" ponies at Grayson Highlands State Park in SW Virginia.

These are all so cool. But this one shows so much emotion. Both on the faces of the children and the expression of the horse. What a great picture!

Thanks Cindy. It is very faded, and I suppose that there are ways to fix that. But I am not that technologically gifted and I kind of like it faded. It is a special picture to me, because I still remember everything about the moment I saw Dusty in our backyard. And I remember lugging those watermelons around the neighborhood to sell them that summer! I have thought about writing a children's book about it -- How to Grow a Pony from Watermelon Seeds.

Rats! It just occurred to me that I can't enter this one. I obviously didn't take it since I am in it. My dad took it. ;-)

It doesn't look faded at all to me. And I love that it is in black and white. I think that makes it even more expressive. What I see is two kids just in wonder at the animal in front of them and I see the future in their eyes of what this animal will teach them about life. In the animal I see a knowingness of what he needs to teach these kids that have been given to him. Not just about animals and horses but about how to live right and be a good person. It tells a whole story that only those who have known horses have read.

Jeany, sign your dad up as a member since he owns a Paso Fino, and let him enter it. Now are you the older kid in the pic? Cute, and love the 70's clothes look.... even the rolled up pants trousers.... all are wonderful pics!

Ponies are great to have when you're young kids. We got our first shetland pony Tuffy when I was 6. Those were the days... and yes, you don't forget them either and have so much fun!

Good idea to get Dad to sign up...he has a computer and a Paso Fino!

I know there are five here, but I couldn't decide which one to leave out--they kind of tell a story.
