I wonder if it will be enough to let me sleep in tomorrow morning? :confused

I put out extra hay under the barn and locked Lady up in the stall since the other horses won't let her get under the barn in bad weather. She looked like a queen holding court. She had her neck arched and her head was hanging over the front of the stall while the other three were lined up in front of her.

It will be interesting to see what I wake up to in the morning!

We are waiting too. The weather report said it wasn't likely to hit this far south, but it was sleeting when I fed. I topped off all the water troughs, and buckets, just in case. Have plenty of hay & feed. Propane tank is almost full so I'll have the gas logs for heat. We are in a particularly good area for having a loss of power. We are also at the end of the line. So if power goes out we are at least 4 days with-out.

My husband is in Marietta at work till 5am. I think I'll call him and suggest if it gets nasty that he just get a hotel room for the day.

Yep - sleeting here too a little while ago... Hopefully it will pass without any major complications, but I'm afraid Mel could be in for an 'interesting' morning tomorrow... :-)

Be SAFE in the morning Mel. Wear CLEETS if you have to and do NOT drive! Good day to be sick.

I have to admit that watchting the news tonight with car after car sliding into one another on the ice was very humerous, but I know that 'ya'll' are not trained for it at all.

Don't forget to unhook and drain all your hoses tonight!!!

Talked to our son in San Angelo, TX, tonight and they had 2 inches of snow... Started classes a bit late and had snowball fights with what little snow they could scrape up...

Cold here in GA but I think the storm has passed well north of us - good luck to the rest of you NE of Atlanta!

Just a rain event for us. The horses were shivering so I left some in and will rotate out if it's still cold & wet this afternoon.

How is it up your way Mel?

I presume Sandy too just had rain

It was raining when I got up this morning. By the time I left there were icicles forming off the front porch roof and my car was coated in ice. Things were a little icier at Nanny's. There was ice on the ground and my fences and gates were pretty icey. While driving to work, my side mirrors were icey and my windshield wipers kept freezing. As I got closer to Athens it melted. Not a big deal at all. I was hoping for something a little more exciting. They did cancel school in Banks County.

I don't mind icey/snow weather. I did grow up with it and understand the perils of driving on icey roads. The only problem is, many of the other drivers out there do not! When it is real bad, I try to stay off the roads just because of the other people out there. ;-)
