A 17.1 hh Duch Warmblood named Breyer, who gives the best kisses. LOL
Michico definitely needed a little friend and I was searching high and low for a horse I could use for some easy jumping and get more involved in dressage, when I was offered Breyer. He is mine as long as I wish for free and if I don’t want him any longer I can send him back home again. Not that I think that will happen any time soon, but to continue the story; Breyer belongs to a friend of a friend and is a 17 year old second level dressage horse. He’s the most wonderful schoolmaster, he knows it all and is willing to work with you so you’ll get it right. He has the smoothest canter, and his trot isn’t the big warmblood kind of trot (which is why he never got past second level) but it makes it easier to ride. But lets get on to the pictures…

As I said, Michico longed for a little friend, so when the trailer pulled up he waited and nickered. It sounded like he was asking who was there. Breyer was politely nickering back…

and off the trailer he comes

The first meeting where they squeal, Breyer carefully stomps while Michico has a mean strike that never (ever) makes contact, but it looks impressive.

and off they go

then they stop for some more squealing, stomping and striking

http://elaine.midgaard.us/michico-breyer/day-1/640/IMG_1384.JPG.640.jpg

just to take off and run some more.

Wait a minute, you turned too early

http://elaine.midgaard.us/michico-breyer/day-1/640/IMG_1398.JPG.640.jpg

but I’ll get you

http://elaine.midgaard.us/michico-breyer/day-1/640/IMG_1399.JPG.640.jpg

You may be a big oaf, but I’m way faster

http://elaine.midgaard.us/michico-breyer/day-1/640/IMG_1400.JPG.640.jpg

I WIN, this is so much fun!

http://elaine.midgaard.us/michico-breyer/day-1/640/IMG_1403.JPG.640.jpg

You called?

http://elaine.midgaard.us/michico-breyer/day-1/640/IMG_1431.JPG.640.jpg

Alright, we’re buddies. At least as long as you do as I say.

http://elaine.midgaard.us/michico-breyer/day-1/640/IMG_0184.JPG.640.jpg

Why do you have this on? Want some help to get it off?

http://elaine.midgaard.us/michico-breyer/day-1/640/IMG_0185.JPG.640.jpg

If you’re going to be my new mama, you better do something about that little twit’s attitude. Look, he making faces at me again.

Breyer’s owner has apologized profusely, several times, about his winter coat. LOL Michico looks even woollier, but she’s into clipped horses, LOL

And now I’m off to order a mounting block.

OMG he's HUGE. And very pretty. But Michico is still handsomer by far ;-)

I'm sure you all will have tons of fun together. What a cool arrangement.

To heck with the mounting block, you need an escalator to get on that monster! They do look pretty cute together. You MUST take pics of your first ride. :D

Wow! He is striking! I LOVE a chestnut with a blaze and 4 white feet! He can come live here anytime!

You best get a really TALL mounting block!

Seeing the two of them together reminds me of WHY many people consider our pretty Paso's to be ponies.

BTW, a second level trot is pretty darn BIG! You are going to have so much fun with him!

I have been on both ends of a free lease, and they can be awesome!

I really would like to see photo's of him under saddle!

LOL, I know, he's a giant  LOL. They truly are buddies, that is, Michico is the boss (YAY, he gets more feed and eats slower  ) and the giant moves away like a shy little boy when he pins his ears; which he does A LOT. He tries his darndest to keep Breyer away from me, he's like a jealous little boy. Beyer is just as gentle as Michico, I already like him a lot, even though he might give me more exercise than I bargained for. ;-)

He's handsome!

I think I would need a step ladder instead of a mounting block...lol

Wow he is nice. They look like they will be best friends. But I bet I know who the boss is. Is that your place? What a beautiful farm! I have farm envy.

Oh Elaine, I LOVED your story and pictures. Hard to believe the difference in size - and yes, it looks like they are both SOOO happy to have a friend to run/play with. What a beautiful field to play in too.

Thanks!!! That made my day.

You know, I look at the picture and all I want to do is send you Bruiser and Buddy. I know how much they'd LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it there.

My poor, deprived Pasos....

No that's actually a local rescue 8-) it's a beautiful place and I got to rent a pasture while I get fencing and grass at my new place.
LOL Ed, he truly is "my little guy," He's my forever horse, my heart and soul. And yes, he's the boss  LOL. He always tries to be, but since he won't reinforce his squealing and striking with bites or kicks he doesn't succeed too often. ;-)

That is so cute! I love the pic of them touching noses!

You will have so much fun with him I bet!

We need pics of you trying to get on him, that will be interesting.
