We always appreciate a good debate where people stick to the facts and share opinions. The thing we miss most about not teaching is the fresh viewpoints we always got from our students. It's great to have such a variety of ages, experiences and backgrounds on this board. By the way - we lived in Miami for almost a year in 1998 and hated that we never got to horse country while we were there. We hope to go back sometimes to remedy that.

It was fun! Another great thing about this board is that we have show, pleasure and those who do both on here so we can share perspectives and not stay isolated in our own little worlds without any input from "the other side"!

That one was nothing compared to the political and religious threads. Those can get very nasty but luckily our ever vigilant MOD SQUAD and omnipotent ADMIN are around to smack the offenders! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

Suzette, Nito & everyone else...thanks so much for your participation in the thread... it is lively debate like that we all actually NEED once in a while.

Not to mention, I like to see the "younger generation" take such an interest.

I was proud to see quite a few of our youth in on that thread. I'm sure they learned a lot, and we can learn from them too. It is good to learn to admit mistakes, be able to appologize and mean it, to see other ppl's point of view even if you do not agree...somethings even a few adults could learn. ;-)

Also most everyone did a good job of explaining their point of views and disagreeing in a civilized way. I know many of you were holding back and could have said more and I do appreciate that. ;-) Delivery of your message is everything and it's up to the adults to teach our youth in a positive way...b/c after all...many of the kids on this bb are the future star breeders and trainers of our breed. And you know the old saying...it takes a village....... ;-)

Of course we will always have the culture clashes. Miami IS a whole other world from the rest of the U.S., that is for sure. So it is hard for those who have spent most of their life here to fully understand where the rest of the U.S. is coming from and vise versa. I really get to see both sides well coming from the American point of view and living/learning the latin culture for the past 4 years. You HAVE to be open minded to learn and understand and that goes for both sides. ;-)
