I have had several ppl say they either:
Cannot log on at all...
Can log on but cannot make a post or check PMs.... or
that they cannot stay logged in automatically, and must continuously log in.

At first my hoster suggested that you all forgot your passwords.....all at the same time I guess.

Sometimes, just reseting the password works.
The hoster suggested clearing your cookies/cache, shutdown, and try again. But this does not always seem to work.

So we can start by doing those things, and then after that let me know.

If you need to email me b/c you cannot get on the bb, fordlori320@aol.com

Anyone else having these problems? And those of you there were....are they fixed now?

I had to log on a few days ago for some reason. The only problem I had as remembering my password. Once I did that, I logged on fine and have had no problems.

Do you know if her new account was working?

We seem to be noticing a trend w/the ppl who use Mozilla Foxfire having the repeated log in problems. So be aware of that issue if you are using it.

I'm on IE 6, due to software conflicts I cannot upgrade to IE 7. I have heard that foxfore is much more resitant to viruses etc. Possibly because so many site will not accept it??

No problems on my end, and I check in at least 5 x per day.

I cannot stay logged in automatically, and must continuously log in, but I'm using Foxfire. I haven't tried my IE here recently, but this was not a problem until recently.

I use Firefox too, but have not had the problem until a couple of days ago ...and it seemed okay all day today, until I changed password

Yes we have also had the login problems and we use firefox. I did a double spyware removal and it did work better. IE worked OK - just can't stand it.

thats something I have noticed..more 'spyware' cookies lately. I come here the most but it could also be coming from someone's photo hosting site.I get 2-4 ..the same one..everyday (earthlink spyware scan runs nightly.)Seems to have happened since teh log in page has'hosted by bloober.com and now the cheri prill site link on it?? could also be my imagination

I'm having a similar problem. The auto login works with the 7 version but with the newer 8 version when I auto login is says there have been no new posts since last login, when I know there are some.

No problems with IE ver 6
Did not have problems with Netscape last week, but will check again.
Problems with Firefox posting. Logs in fine, but when I try to post and hit "submit" it prompts me to log in again and I lose the post.

It happened to me again a few minutes ago - I got dumped and had to log in again. I'm trying out not using the back button and so far I've stayed logged in (firefox 2.0.0.1)

My brother wrote code for websites and you'd be surprised how different browsers interpret the same code. Having said that - if MSIE ver. 6 is working for the people that use it - my guess is that it's the browser Lori's web designer is using... It looks fine on _his_ screen, but - in general - only a very professional web designer can accomodate a lot of different browsers when the demands for customization are high... And then - some designers just can't be bothered...

I vote for choice 2 Sandy.

Her designer should have Firefox, MSIE, and Netscape loaded on his computer. When I design sites, I always try things out in all 3 browsers, and multiple screen resolutions.

BUT, phpbb is a canned bulletin board. It's not the web designer, it's the bb that they are using. Maybe there's another patch to the bb that needs to be added.
