:rofl :rofl :rofl
Ed was a baadd, baaaddd boy in New Orleans. This is his punishment. Let this be your warning, be very, very careful at National meetings.

On the serious side, in case you all have not yet heard, at the BOD meeting on Friday the board unanimously voted to create an ad hoc committee to research the formation of a recreational horse owners committee. I may not have the terminology exactly correct but this committee would be for the advancement of any recreational use of the Paso Fino horse. The ad hoc committee is chaired by Kelly Ireland and he is charged with developing a plan to implement this committee into committeeland.

So...Kelly's job is to write up the rule portion to create the committee? Good idea. (that's what HE gets for going to the meeting..hee hee hee).

I was laughing, but I admit you've got a h@ll of a job! I think the Events Committee has got to be the hardest committee there is. Good luck.

Correct. Yes, the events committee is a big job. I'm hoping that with all the work Milda has done the last two years we can just coast for the next two.   Unfortunately I know that won't be the case.

Correction, I remembered the correct verbage. It was the recreational RIDERS committee.

Hi Cindy,
I hope there are plans in the works for another "National trail ride"? The one at Sand Hills SC last year was a big hit. I think this type of thing would be well received if done in various regions across the country.

Echo, glad you mentioned the trail ride program. Milda was here this morning and we discussed the trial ride program. Since I have no clue about doing organized trail rides, we need some committee members who are more in tune with that aspect of our world. We think you would be a great one to join the committee and help plan these things. Milda said that she would work with you as far as how we did the thing last year and hopefully we can get more of them going across the country. So, you have formally stepped right in the middle of it and been asked to join the crazy people on the events committee to address this aspect of the committee's responsibilities. Once the Recreational Riders Committee is up and running, this stuff will transfer to that committee but for now it is still under Events. So whatcha say, Lori? Are ya up for it? :poking

Exuse me did I stick my nose in and volunteer? I don't think so. I just got our regions schedual for the year done and now I am suppose to organize this.
I thought we had come to some kind of mutual ground Ms Cindy.
Guess not!!!

Well I guess if I get to plan it than I don't have so far to drive to get there now do I.

Sooooo of the top of my head, How bout Lakeview Plantation, November 8-11, Close enough for SC,Ga, and Florida supporters. Make Saturdays ride into a treasure hunt, Maybe the Mulls can get some friends up for some banjo pickin around a camp fire, and some Bar B Que. Maybe a largo race on a straigh away.
Any suggestions.

By the way is there a committy for this and how bout some contact #s
at least Mildas addy. Got to know all them specifics I keep herin about, Insurance, Check book, who approval needs to be gotten, yadda yadda yadda.

Well, actually, I was hitting up Lori and the ONLY reason I did not hit you up, Boyd, is that I know how much work you are doing for our region. HOWEVER, and this is a big however, Lori turned me down as her plate is already too full. SOOOO, you are now on the hot seat, Boyd. I was actually talking to Suzy about this today and she said that she would help you to get things done if you would point her in the right direction. So I have solved the problem of you doing too much by obtaining help for you. I know that you helped to organize last years trail ride so you know more than I do about what's up with it. And the contact number is me. Milda is no longer the chair, I am. So get with me. I am putting my committee together but I do need a couple people who can work on this trail stuff. Thanks Boyd.

Cindy and Boyd,
Please do not think I turned this opportunity down due to lack of interest...quite the contrary. I believe expanding the PFHA to include events for recreational riders is extremely important, and the best way to accomplish that is to enlist some recreational riders to help plan what they want to see. Since I only rarely get to trail ride, I don't think I'm the best choice. OK, you recreational riders, NOW IS YOUR CHANCE. Do you want some say so? Speak up, and contact Cindy. Why not volunteer to help with the national trail ride, and other events for the recreational rider?

Boyd R

Well since I had little to do with last year and pretty much just attended, Fill me in on all the specifics on this. Are we to raise money? Break even by charging gate fee, Supported by PFHA, Who pays the liability ins., Advertising, Cause about all I am good at is the who, what, where, when and how kind of thing. And know nothing about the PFHA rules and policy things.
But I am more than happy to step up to the plate.

Now as Lori said, How bout the rest of ya recreational riders out there?

Opputunity is ringing answer the phone.

Isn't this one for Kelly Ireland since he is heading up the new Recreational Riders committee...he should be contacted about it to at least put his ideas in to the events commitee.

There was some good feedback last year after the SC ride on what should be done differently by Bill Marchianino (sp ?)... from the Outer Banks, NC. He may also be a good one to ask.

Cindy

Kelly is tasked with developing the Recreational Rider's Committee for implementation. i.e. writing the rule defining the objectives of the committee. There is no committee yet but when there is, yes, this will go to that committee.

Boyd, let's take this off the board and into e-mail. We will figure out the answers to those questions together. :D

  Gotta find us first! We're pretty mobile since we got our new horse trailer and FL farmette!!! Actually we can certainly write up articles and stuff like that, organize things and if we're in the area, we'll go to most things and help also when we can.

I think Cindy gave everyone an excuse to go and hide. I can hear them now "what do you mean we didnt volanteer? you all wanted to plan it behind close doors."
