After a week with no power it just came on an hour ago. Can't wait until tonight to take a nice long HOT bath in the whirlpool, watch TV and sleep in a nice warm bed. The primitive life was okay for a few days but I'm so glad to be back in the land of power.

Glad you finally got a bath Patti. We were wondering why the dogs were complaining. ;-)

Cindy...is Missouri really a "cold place?" Yikes! They had ice in Texas by Carol too, snow in Malibu. I don't guess anyplace is safe.

But, I do think I need some place warmer then here. (haven't hit freezing in 2 weeks, and not scheduled to in the long range forecast)

Carol, from what everyone has told me Missouri is pretty bad in the winter. I have been inquiring over the last couple years because it is just a beautiful state but too cold for me from what people have told me.

Lost power this morning!! Only 22 hours of power, hopefully they will get it back up faster this time.

Cindy, cold is a relative term, what is cold to me would not be to the Northerners but would freeze your bootie off. This is very unusual for southern Missouri to have this kind of weather. Besides I don't like hurricanes any better. I prefer a month or so of cold to six months of heat and humidity! I can put a lot of layers on to stay warm but once I get to the birthday suit that's it for cooling off :D Besides wearing ten pounds of clothes is great way to stay in shape! :bad bannana

I'm not that far from you Patti, and it seems like the last several winters have been milder. I hope you dont have to deal with anymore ice anytime soon!

I remember back yrs ago to our last ice storm, and our power was out for several days. It was rough.

It only took two hours to get back on this time. We've had a couple of quick on/offs. Now the clean up starts. I tried to take the fourwheeler down the trails but didn't get far with fallen trees and limbs. I'll have to take the tractor out and push them out of the way.

Glad to know you didn't have to go long without power this time! We've also got alot of fallen limbs here throughout the back of the property that we've not gotten to yet.Clean up is not fun when it's cold.Ours won't get done till spring when we can get out there together on the weekends and enjoy doing it together but ours isn't blocking anything.Just down limbs in the forest.Your friend,Moniece
