I wanted Guy to take some pics of me and the horses...I don't have hardly any of them with ME....it was 10 degrees and almost to cold for the camera to work... :shock: but some of them came out halfway decent...

BTW - I hope you all notice how pretty and white Fundador is in the snow! That is one of the plus's of snow...clean horses, clean hooves. Great!

PasoMom, I had to show him how to turn the camera on.. :D but he was WILLING to try and take pics (which is why I really like my digital, you can take A LOT of pics without wasting any film 8-) ) and that is why I love him.. :love ...now I just have to work on talking him into another paso... :twisted: I want a pinto.... 8-)

My stars Joy, how did you manage to stay out there even 1 minute at that temperature?????? Those shots are beautiful and I am sooooooo jealous! First, I look like a small whale all bundled up in my goose down parka, which is over a large polar fleece, two pair of gloves and sweats with a second layer underneath......and it is in the high 20's here!!! Over course this all even looks better now that my belly is expanding to show everyone that I am really pregnant and not just fat!

And you have seen the pics of my gray mare - she needs to be reregistered as her true color......a delightful shade of yellow/green/brown!!! Even our snow didn't clean her up yet!

Make sure to frame those shots - they are perfect!

Well Blair, I usually look like the 'michelin man' out there with my down jacket on and fur hat....but it's REALLY funny to see me in my 'warmest' coat...it's a full length 'vintage' hooded sheepskin...VERY WARM...except I have popped all but the top most button off of it, and, being the crafty person that I am ....(NOT) I fasten it now with a lead rope tied around the waist... :crazy bannana ...works for me... :shock:

Thank you so much for the compliments, Sharon, but one of these days I will have Guy take a picture of the 'real' me aka 'barn goddess' as Carol puts it.... :lol: and we will ALL have a good laugh...
My camera is a Panasonic 'Lumix' model DMC-FZ10, I like it because it looks almost just like a 'real' SLR camera...and you CAN switch it to manual settings, but I have had this camera for going on 3 or 4 years now, can't remember...and have yet to use the manual settings more than a couple times....my old Pentax SLR was totally manual, and I loved it, but I just can't figure the settings out very well on this digital, it's not the same....but it takes pretty good 'point and shoot' pictures!

Joy you are a real trooper out in those temps taking pics! I was really liking the warm temps we had but now I am wracking my brain trying to figure out how to get to Fl for a couple weeks.! This weather has really taken a down slide and I hear we have COLDER? temps coming......after one week of this frozen stuff and the plow breaking and AL of course being out of town(it only does this when he is gone) I am ready for 70 and sunshine!

I want to at least go down for a couple weeks in mid Feb for my birthday. Not taking the horses though it is too hard on them with all that winter coat to go into the warm and then come back into cold. I am working on a plan to get out of here.....

Even if I have to board them all and pay mucho money I will! Now I know why I went to Fl every winter......I am all alone up here in the boonies and if I died they wouldn;t find me till the spring thaw which looks like it won;t be till May!

Hi Deb, geez, I wish I lived closer to you, that way we could whine together about this frozen crap :evil: ...oh yes, isn't that always the way, something always goes wrong when 'they' are away and you are stuck dealing with the trouble...
I wholeheartedly agree that you should find a way to get to FL....just do it...you'll feel SO much better!!! This cold weather is awful, and yes, it is supposed to get REALLY nasty the rest of the week with temps below zero PLUS wind... :mad: ....

I am so depressed......my son is also in Bagdad(got deployed on Jan 1st) which just adds to my stress. I did get and email from him yesterday and he said he was ok.....so scarry when you hear about all the deaths everyday over there..........yep I need some sunshine to help make me feel better!

Wish you lived closer for sure.....you do look great in the pics of the horses! Didn;t you get one with Rico? How is he doing?

I myself am scheming to get down there this year....and I may succeed sometime end of Feb, or beginning of March...have a friend in St. Augustine patiently waiting....Guy says 'maybe'....I think he is secretly ready to go too... ;-)
