Introducing La Morena de Plebeyo :prancer

She arrived late last night from Ocala. It was a long wait for her. The shipper picked her up at about 12:00 Friday night and she arrived at my home here in Vermont at 12:15 Monday night. Long ride!! But she is wonderful. Seems happy and I lover her already!!!!!

I will try to post pictures but if I can't Joy will when she gets home because she is here now wanting to take my mare home with her. :new confused Tell her to stop Erin!! No more ponies for her. She is thinking of going on vacation to Florida in the spring. What is she really going for???

Okay look for the pictures of my new mare. She really is nice. Thanks Lynn L.

Wow! Joy, you are fast!!!!!!! Thanks so much.

No, this is not my first Paso. I have owned 6 Paso's before. I kind of went astray for awhile. I must have been temporarily brain dead or something. But I am back and very proud of it!!

I can't wait to ride her. But--that will have to wait for warmer weather.

She's beautiful...and even looks like Bien. Congratulations.

Okay Erin--here's the scoop.

She is about 14-2 ish. 11 years old. Obviously a bay. She has had 4 foals. She is a Plebeyo daughter. She is pretty green but seems so willing. She will need work with her gaits but I am up for the challenge and certainly with some good mountain exercise she will come into it nicely. I just love her temperment. She is quiet on the ground and has nice brio when mounted.

I still have Jonah. A really nice gentle giant. He is a Tenn. Walker 16.2 hands. Not enough brio for me but still a good boy that I just love to ride and he is a go anywhere, do anything kind of guy. Great for beginners too.

I had always told Joy I would have me another Paso, I just didn't know when. This gal just happened to come my way. I really didn't go looking for her and I wasn't planning on buying just yet, but I only have Jonah and really wanted to get him a buddy and it's nice to have a second horse so I can take friends with me.

As for trails--well, we have the wonderful Snake Mountain. Ever been there? It's incredible up top. I will send you a few pictures of our trip this past October.

she reminds me of my plebeyo daughter. but mine is 5 and gray. she's got the same face and eyes as mine. Mine is really really sweet on the ground but.. she has SO much brio at times.. and is too smart. But i love her. She's really gorgeous.. if only she was mine. hehehehe :D

We can't do Snake Mountain in the spring. At least I can't. It's straight up and my horses aren't usually in shape for that kind of climb. Jonah had a hard time this past fall. I had to get off and drag him up the rest of the way. He can be so lazy. He doesn't have the Paso heart.

Beautiful girl! Congrats!

What kind of special accomodations do you make for a horse that came up north from warm weather? Do they grow a winter coat or is the first year all about keeping them blanketed? How long does it take a horse to adapt. Just curious.

Congrats, Gail!

I'd very much like to join you, Joy, and Erin if y'all plan a ride soon/this spring! I'm looking forward to riding in Vermont - I'm sure there's plenty to ride up there...

Erin, I don't have any ideas because I'm not terribly familiar with Vermont, but I am game to go anywhere! So let the ideas fly! ;-)

Thanks Everyone, I just love her already. She is a sweet mare.

As for the cold---It got real cold here on Thursday. Below zero!!!! I dont think she knows what hit her. She has two heavy winter blankets on and I grabbed my fleece blanket and wrapped it around her neck with clips. She was fine with that and of course she was in the barn.

She's out now and I took the fleece off. She seems to be doing just fine.

I will let you all know when I ride her. It won't be for awhile. Too cold and too icy. Gail

Doesn't it just stink when you get a new horse and you can't ride it right away? Well, it's in the 20's here today, feels like a heatwave after those below zero days.
