I wanted to share w/you all some kids from High Springs, Fl who are really taking upon themselves to make a difference. These kids are working for their high school ag department on many projects. The latest one...a barn and 4 horses! We can help these kids by sending some of our spare tack to these kids for their new horses. (QH's at this time)
Anything is appreciated and needed.
Bridles, halters, buckets, lead ropes, fly spray, saddle pads, it can be as small as a hoof pick.
Please email our board bud Lela (lalecl) for more info on where to send your donations.

Also, I would like you so see one of their other projects. An animal rescue team in the event of a disaster (such as a huricane). Take a look at all the hard work these kids put into organzing and implementing proceedures.

The first meeting of A.R.T. was held Thursday May 9, 2003 in Mr.
Farrell’s classroom.
All but one member was present. Those present were Amanda Roberson,
Brittany Lindsey, Rebecca Quimette, Hollie Dobbs, Phyllis Dobbs Thomas,
Clint Thomas, Zac Branciforte, Mitchell Branciforte and Leila Lindsey.
Becca Quimette mother came in late and was welcomed. The purpose of this
meeting was to develop some structure for the team. This is a very
special group of young people. In talking to the person in charge of the
Southeastern Equestrian Conference coming to the University of Florida
over the summer and including a Large Animal Rescue course, this will be
the largest group in attendance. We will be making history and breaking
ground as the first ever from any high school or FFA to have an Animal
Rescue Team. People will be watching to see if we succeed or fail. Many
good ideas were discussed. Some guidelines were also discussed and
developed... There was a vote by secret ballot for, Captain, Co-Captain,
and Historian. We also discussed adding a secretary. At this time there
was a tie for “Captain” between Brittany Lindsey and Zac Branciforte. At
this time Brittany spoke up and conceded to Zac because she felt since she
was graduating and Zac was still in School that he would have more access
to all the Team members. Amanda Roberson was voted “Co-Captain.” Hollie
Dobbs was voted “Historian.” Crystal Hale notified Leila Lindsey prior to
the meeting that she would not be able to make it due to another
commitment and was allowed to vote as well. Her vote was given to Leila
Lindsey who added it to the rest. We watched the US Rider Rescue video
and discussed what we saw and wrote down items we felt would be needed for
a Team box for supplies. We also discussed raising the money for these
items ourselves. A date was set for a car wash with location approval from
Mr. Herschel and Mr. Farrell. The date will be May 31, 2003 from 9 till
noon. It was suggested that each member talk to family and friends to see
if they could be sponsored so much for each car the team washed (
example: .50cents for 10 cars washed would be a total of $5). Everyone
like the idea and Leila is going to come up with a sponsor sheet. Our
goal is $930. With 8 class members ($440), and 14 auditors ($490). . It
was decided that no matter what amount of money was raised it would be
divided in half between the “Team” and the “Auditors” and then at that
time each person would have a lowered rate or share of cost to pay.
Emergency info was taken and a list compiled. A logo was discussed and it
was suggested that anyone who wished to do one would do so and then we
would vote in the next meeting. We discussed patches for our vests and
liked the idea of a logo for the team, the N.E.A.T. Logo, and **IPFYH.
(I Pray For Your Happiness), as well as ours names. We discussed a dress
code, emergency items worn on our person, emergency items for our bin. It
was suggested an article be put in the paper. Some of the items listed
below are lists that were discussed and made. We talked about a first
responder course possibly in the future with CPR included. Some of the
