I love the way the child is dressed. Proper boots and a helmet that fits! Jacket not so loose that you can see his posture.

Great photos's!

Hi ... I'm glad you enjoyed them. It was a fun (and busy day). Carol...re: Kerry, We saw each other at the gas station in my little town. She'll get over (soon)... she has an invite. It was a perfect weather day ... like Spring in January. Cold air has moved back in this afternoon...back to being bundled up. The woods pics is a grove of mostly White Oak trees on my farm... one of the pastures is on the uphill side there out of view. The bluff is adjacent to my land, but I ride there and let the horses do the hill climb when not too wet. There is a creek at the bottom of the bluff and a old swallow pond site (now drained) supposedly built by Indians, the green in the distance from the bluff is a new stand of young pine trees growing planted on 2 year old cut-over logged land (lost my riding trail there).

Price, the young boy student is suppose to wear his safety helmet anytime around the horses..ground or otherwise. Plus boots with a heel. He is small enough, the horse(s) may just not see him. His Texas grandparents bought him his first riding boots...ropers. We split the lesson on horsemanship...caring for, grooming, leading, lunging, parts or horse and tack, etc... and then rest on riding skills. We are practicing dismounting where he does drop down (free fall) those few feet without the mounting block... to stop slowly pulling back with the reins... and once moving or after stopping let off the reins pressure. He is planning for his first lead line class at the NC State fair Show in October. He saw that class and wanted to be in it. He has 2 years he can show in it, so he should be pretty good by then. Price is a very good enthusiastic young student that loves animals. I did take some riding pics of him to see his riding position on the horse....side, front, and rear. "He" has also graduated from the leadline saddle to the dressage saddle. I hope to get his mom going with lessons this spring when the weather is more consistant... she already has her riding boots and has the will.

enjoy. 8-)
