Got to the scenes with the racing accidents and couldn't watch any more.

It's all about MANkind and what everything else can do for us, for our 'sport'...humane or not.. :( ...I wish I could say someday it will be different, that someday ALL the abuse of ALL animals will be a thing of the past.....but I doubt it will ever happen....

Hello Jenn, I have tried to see if I can find the video in another link but unfortunately for us it seems to me that it's no longer available but I will still look to see if I can find it.

This other link that I have posted, I have to promptly advise that it has very strong graphic content. I posted it in an effort to use all available material to make people conscient about animal abuse. If you don't have the heart or in this case, the stomach I insist not to watch the video, Capisce?

This forum, this topic, you people could add your grain of sand in the cause! Thank you!

I don't have the heart or the stomach to view it...I can tell from the posts, it must be bad. I'm such a softhearted thing, I couldn't even watch the accident scene in The Horse Whisperer. I to this day have not seen it although I've seen the movie several times.

The one I was looking for was the one about some forms of dressage when done wrong along with bits when used wrong/incorrectly.

I'm such a softhearted thing,

Dear Carol, I perfectly understand what you mean and is evident the love you show toward the horses. You did good not to watch the video and there is other videos posted in youtube, that are an efort to stop horse slaughter, abuse and cruelty that are limit to a members only for the grafic content.

I have seen almost all of them, and they are crude, it's real life and the only purpouse they make those videos is to create counciousnes to the people and stop the horse abuse. Aparently the laws are geting slower in defences of the horses.

One thing I can tell you about the videos I've seen is the amount of beatyful horses that are "discharge" are amazing, the rich colors, the size of some of them, the phenotype or the many diferent breeds...it's a shame! The butchers act as murderers, they show no mersy as if they enjoy killing. I wonder what kind of feelings are they repremend, that they're take it on the horses. We have to some how raise our voices against PMU mares, horse slaughlters, horse meat comsuption and all dose kind of abuse!

Mr. Professional...I commend someone such as you who obviously has a big following in the Paso Fino community both here and in your own country...for taking such a vocal stand against such cruelty. We need more like you! I'm sure you educate a lot of folks as you teach them about the Paso Fino horse that these horses should be our partners and not our slaves. They give so much of themselves when treated right and there is no need to treat them cruelly to get them to perform to their best!
Here in my own locale, I also try my best to fight such abuse, by writing my lawmakers, donating to my local rescue operations, and even taking in some rescues myself with the intent that they live out their days peacefully on my farm.
I have a couple of mares who had a very tough start with mutilations to show for it...they were scared and mistrustful of people when they came to my farm several years ago...now they knock you down to get a pat or a scratch...friend and stranger alike. They know they're home and they never have to leave.
Thank you, sir, for all the knowledge you have brought to this board.

What a horrible video to see, but it is sad to say it happens, frequently and not only to horses.

Even here in P.R their is a two page law reguarding animal abuse and when you even know the culprit the police hesitate to follow through.

The other day the HUMANE SOCIETY here received a phone call from a horse owner to see what services were available and to file a police claim againist a rider who broke a glass bottle over the horses head may be the horse loss vision also.

Its tough.

Dear Carol, I'll humbley take your kind words into my heart http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p119/The_Professional_photos/9.gif for the little effort I add to the cause of saving horses and all kind of animals from the cruelty thay are object by inconsiderate people. We are all a big group of animal lovers! But we need more action from the government.

Take for example, that case Mrs. Amasona had mentioned.... I'll bet that the guy who hit the horse with a glass bottle is a frustated moron that tries to impress people surrounding him with his "macho man" attitude.

Although, a couple days ago, in the news, I heard of a guy who was accused of killing a dog, now he's facing charges of first degree murder. And another one, this one was a law enforcer who kills his wife, mother- in- law and the dog, he's facing 3 account of murder. In PR, killing a dog or a horse or any other pet, counts as first degree murder.

In the other hand, it's an up -hill task, to legally process a suspect. Unfortunately, our society has lost family values that teaches children to have respect for all living things and the goverment agencies are doing nothing to educate the new generations. It's up to us! We all can add to the cause. I admire Jose Rubero, which I haven't have the pleasure of knowing in person, yet, but I hope I will...I read in the Jan./Feb. edition of Show Time, "Nuestras Raices" "Our Roots"; of the project he has involving the community into having dealt with horses and other farm animals. These are the kind of projects that teach the new generations to love and respect animals.

I wish that all of us at American Paso Fino Forum, can put our heads together and invent a logo, something that could work as a symbol- a world symbol against horse/animal abuse. I know you all have talents, put 'em to work, you know as a contest, I bet we can say later that was originated here. What do you think?

I don't think I'll watch it either. I cried all the way through the Horse Whisperer and forbid my family from buying it for me. I'm really a wimp in the first degree. Won't go to or watch races anymore, ever.

We should say "ManKIND??" because frequently we aren't, even when we KNOW better. Look at the prevalence of cock-fighting, dog-fighting, cat hunting, bear baiting, bow and arrow hunting, the list goes on. It's terrible what some consider 'sport' or 'entertainment'....

The one Professional found for me is _not_ horse slaughter.

It's about using bits wrong the first half then the second is great.
