I have found 2 different dates for this, does anyone know which it is?

The cpfha says July 20th, 2007 and the westernstatespasofinos say it's April 13-15, 2007. It would be much better in April in the cool months here.

I just want to make sure Troy has all 3 days off so we can see more then last year.

Bump, who all is going? I want to know who all I get to meet.

*cries* Lori won't be there.

Anyone in any classes or are you just coming to watch?

The Oyster Bar (we had crab cakes and fries) were to die for!

Fine, send me a check for hotel and gas, and pay someone to feed and water while I'm gone, and I'll go. ;-)

I can do a much better job IMO promoting the breed here at the Howard Franklin (a local open show)....and a lot cheaper too.

Seems like this year won't be half as much fun as last year.

hmmm, why do you think that it won't be as much fun? from what i understand there's a lot more people/ranches bringing a number of horses to show.

Most of the friends we made last year won't be there.

i'm looking forward to this show. the turn out will be bigger for its second year and the location is great with everything you could possibly want close by (with the exception of the heat :-0). hopefully next year we can get it on the calendar for a cooler month. my pinto gelding will be in the 3 yo professional pleasure and AO classes. since this type of show will be brand new to him i'm curious to see how he reacts to it all. as usual we'll have a lot of photos on our website from the show for those who won't be there. www.desertpasofinos.com.

We got to meet Deb today and it was awesome! She did pretty well with the only pinto out there. We had such a nice day there with people. Someone even recognized us from last year. The nice gentleman that opened the gates to let the horses in and out of the ring.

There were hardly any vendors there this year compared to last.

The announcer was easy to understand and her spanish way outdid mine in name pronunciation.

Galopandotv was there so I hope people got to see some of it.

Just a few sales horses being shown from $9,500 - $65,000.

I know some have remarked on the east coast of the horses looking smaller. These ones here all seemed pretty good sized. We were down with them in the warm-up, gate and barn. MMMMMMMMM so much eye candy!!

This year they had tables down to watch it all going on that were reserved. Looked like the best seat in the house.

I'm bringing the camera tomorrow and will try and get some pics. Last year it was way too dark with a regular flash to have any that turned out. You need a huge flash/lens for them it seems.

Very very few people there promoting their stallions. Last year there were aisles of them.

Maybe it was the wrong timing since it competed against the show in the east. I realllllllllllllllly hope they try for April next year, it would be so much cooler.

OHhhhh and the saddle for this year is very nice!! If it had looked that way last year, we would not have parted with it. They made a black one you can use in shows with the Flashy part that comes off. Much much nicer and you get a pad and breast collar as well. Though raffle ticket prices went way up. $25 a piece. No horse either for raffle.

Seemed like a bigger crowd late in the afternoon.

Driving is the first class tomorrow morning 9:30am and Stallion at Liberty Class (My ultimate FAVE!!) the last class.
