Well, I just got back from Great Western's BOD meeting on the rule changes and there were a few heated topics.

How does everyone feel about a "Recreational Riding Committee?"

How does everyone feel about a seperate horse show all together of "Youth Nationals?"

hmmm dont remember any discussion of the Rec Riding Commitee..but the youth Nats didnt go over well...I dont think that will pass..can you imagine just the cost to put it on..not to mention the costs for those families where the child /youth isnt the only family member involved in the showing..two nationals for them.I understand some worry about missing school..and other feel the youth need to get more attention. But does any other breed do a seperate Nationals for their youth?

Well....

I just checked a few, but so far AQHA, Appy's, and Paints, all have their own Youth clubs and Championship shows. I know there is is High School Rodeo and Professional Rodeo seperately.

I'm not sure about others.

Youth didn't go over well in our region either...but I think one of the comments are that there just aren't that many competing yet.

Carol....that is likely true...I sure don't see many youths competing here, no where near enough for a regional youth club even...I think I can count them on ONE hand!
