I almost whizzed when I saw this! I ordered one and called my friend who owns a gelding that is actually in the book. Almost all of the horses in the book were from Paso Fino Del Fuego. WOW!!!!!!! COOL BEANS!

Thanks Terry. 8-)

I found this picture of Gail's horse. His name is Tesoro ...something or other. He is a gelding in this picture. I wonder if I will recognize his picture in the book???

Bobby Yuntis & Micheal Bruce used to train & show their horses at their farm in MA. There was a split up of sorts and now La Tierra doesn't have horses there anymore. Erin probably knows more abut it than me.

A couple of years ago, I looked through the book at Bobby's place and he told me all about the photo shoots. Cool stuff!

Terry,
Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered one. I have his book on Unicorns, it is stunning. I believe I have looked at this book but passed it by due to price. Any of Vavras books are true "coffe table" books. His photography is amazing.

The book is also at Barnes & Noble for $14.95. I had ordered one over the net and then found it in the store. Bought one for me and one for my friend. It's a wonderful book.

The co-owner on my dog is a friend of Robert Varva's and he has all his books. I really like the one on Cats.

Who owns Tesoro del Norte? I rode him quite a bit in 2003. He was a handful then. How is he doing? Would love to see recent pictures of him.

All of the horses in the Varva book belong to Stan and Betty (Or at least they used to - before they sold some of them them.)

I've had a copy since 2003 and it is on my coffee table. It is a good source of conversation when I have guests that don't understand horses or pasos.

I got my book today. I love the pictures (tried not to notice the nose scars and the eggbar shoes) but I wish there were captions so we know who we are looking at. I was trying to find Tesoro, but all chestnut horses look alike in the book.

*side note: My book smells like mold in a big way. Pheww!

I sure hope mine won't smell .......yikes........ya gotta wonder IF that's why the price is so reasonable?
Hummmmm???

I am very sensitive to smells, and sometimes people don't know what the heck I am talking about when I say something stinks. Maybe other people won't smell the mold, but it is very strong to me.
