Any questions about lake effect....just ask. I am experiencing it on a daily basis, but luckily so far it passes by us quick as it shifts on a daily basis. The warm start to the winter is the cause. The cold air over the lake just sends a plume of snow to hit us. We are trapped....basically. It is no fun driving in it and the schools just south of us have been closed all week. Every night I drive home in it as it heads north, then it sags south again.
I WILL have pics. Even tho I love a good snowstorm, I can barely see the top of my fence posts now. Luckily the horses don't venture far. The mini can't go anywhere cuz the snow is over his back...and we are not in the majorly hit area.
This weekend, if we get a beak from it I wanna get pics for you.

I will post pics as i am able on the general forum section. I am hampered by hubby leaving the camera in the groomer  and hogging the computer. but he should have awesome pics of the forest.....eventually!

OK...how did you get your groomer to swallow the camera? ;-) ;-)

Maybe tell me what you mean by "groomer"???
I saw your snow on the news last night. It looks positively awful. I really feel for you!!! We get lake effect here too, but a much smaller lake!!! The worst I've seen was 3 feet of snow (while the sun was shinnng on the other side of the valley!!! ). But you guys...oh my! I don't even want to guess how much mud that will turn into! My back aches in empathy with you.

We have state land just down our road. Our road is one of the trail through Winona forest. My husband helps groom the trails (basically a tractor for the snow) for the snowmobiles, skiers and dogsledders....and the one horsebackrider.....me! LOL. I guess I am used to the term. Sorry. The snow is so deep that they had to drive the groomer thru the trails without the attachments and then this morning try again to pack it down a little. Unfortunately, now that we finally have snow, it is too deep and too cold to enjoy!!

This is my road after it turns into a trail. I thought had others, but i am on wrong 'puter! The bad thing about this snow is it WILL delay my horseback riding for the spring....it will be here and ice for quite a while!!
