I am going to move from California to Tennessee in a few months and will be putting up a new barn. I am interested in a prefabricated barn and wonder
if anyone in the South East has input on what companies do a good job and any other input. Thanks a lot!

Hey Wendy... where are you moving to in Tennessee? We just bought some acreage close to Cleveland....Won't be moving there any time soon, but will be dreaming for a while....I have friends in the Cookeville area, as well as family in Cleveland, and Huntsville, Al, isn't too far away...

Cookeville is beautiful.....cute little city. I lived there for three years, even worked at the hospital -- Cookeville General. I loved it....4 seasons (long spring and fall, short summer and winter). Nice, rolling hills landscape, lots of meadows, lots of lakes and rivers. People were friendly, little crime...Clean, modern town...Not too far from Nashville or Knoxville. I've always wanted to return. Where are you moving to? Which part? One of my friends lives in Monterey. She has been looking for some property for me and has found some (Muddy Pond), but my husband wanted to live closer to his family....so, we'll eventually will be moving closer to Chattanooga (which is by far not as pretty as Cookeville), I think...
We are planning on visiting Tennesse end of May...will you have moved by then? How exciting for you!!! Big change, too!!!

Well thanks for the invite to check out the neat riding places. I am going to be in Baxter, only about 10 mins from the center of Cookeville and yes, there is a pond!
Now I just have to build a barn!

Baxter is beautiful....I lived less than 5 miles or so away, same side of town....real close to Cookeville. You'll be taking the same road into town as I did every day. I wonder if that little restaurant is still off that road.... (Hattie's...had the best salads there)....I seem to remember it was fairly flat there....lots of grass and trees. Of course, that's been a long, long time ago. The last time I visited, though...about 5 years ago....it looked a bit different, but even greener than I remembered and still very rural. It took me a while to find places, but I did. I went to Tennessee Tech, nice college...
Wendy, one of my friends is an intensive care--heart-- nurse there (if I ever get sick, I will have to fly her in....she is the best nurse!!) and I think her husband is retired. They built their own house by themselves. Very honest and very good people. I could ask them if they could recommend a builder for you....They've lived in that area all their lives.
