Had a call and my Mom passed away tonight - she was 91 and had a stroke the week before Christmas .
She fought the good fight, but slipped away in her sleep .
She was mentally alert until the end -
She was a great Lady - and did things in her own way ! Even now - she had her body donated to the Medical College of Milwaukee! And Boy, with everything she had overcome and had medically now - they will GET an education - she is probably sitting in heaven giggling about it !
Sing no sad songs - she is at peace .
Good to know you're thinking like that.. be happy she must be smiling down on you and all of her family.

Monty, sounds like she had quite a full life and as you say, she is with her maker and sound again, and looking down on all of us with a smile.
I am glad you are at peace with her passing.

There's nothing anyone can say that will ease the pain, but I'm so sorry.
If she gave her heart, soul and life to God, She is in the best hand ever.
May God Bless you and keep you.

We share your loss and also your joy in having shared the life of such an amazing person.
You know they seem to wait till after Christmas so they can see everyone again. We just laid grandma to rest last Tuesday. I agree that they are now at peace. I am sorry for your loss though.
Take it easy during the planning procces please. Try not to over do it.

Every earthly life has a reason, and it sounds like your mother fulfilled hers magnificently.
I'm sorry for your loss, admire your strength at her passing ... and surmise that that strength is one of the gifts she gave.
You will miss her in the coming years, but won't she be pleased that you remember her with such delight?

As I told you earlier today--give me a shout whenever, Penny. Having lost fathers and then mothers at approx similar times in our lives, I have an inkling of how things are feeling. My mother was a spring chicken of 83 when she passed, but she also was alert to the end, and ready to go when she did. That was 7 yrs ago--wow how time screams by---and I still wish I could ask her a question or compare notes from time to time, but for the most part, I know she is happier than she had been since my father passed, and I believe, from what you have said, your mother felt that way, too. Take care!
So sorry to hear of your loss Penny. May you find comfort in happy memories.

I am very sorry Penny. I lost my mother a few years ago and there are still days I pick up the phone to share some success or tidbit with, knowing no one will appreciate it like 'mom'...and remember she isn't there for me anymore. Very hard.
Losing our parents is part of life and the way things should happen, but it is still very hard. There will never, ever be another "mom."
Hugs to you, and prayers for your family. I am so very sorry for you loss.

For my friend Penny...
A smile,
A laugh,
A touch,
Each means so much to us,
when shared with those we love;
How quickly time carries us on,
alas the ones we love are soon called home
but among the greatest gifts they leave with us,
Their smile, their laugh, their love;
Till the day we meet again,
to smile, love, and laugh once more... my friend;
I wrote this today thinking of you. Everytime I think of my grandpa, I can see his smile, hear his laugh and feel his love.
