And we're just coming OUT of the dumpster! It has been 4 or 5 below zero (F) for the last two weeks here and the snow has been coming ... and coming ... and then coming some more. David and I got caught in a blizzard and had to spend the night in our car about a week ago. Ugly.
Tomorrow we get up to 23F. What a heat wave!

TAUNTON...BROCKTON...PLYMOUTH...
FALL RIVER...NEW BEDFORD...MATTAPOISETT...PROVIDENCE...WARWICK...
BRISTOL...NARRAGANSETT...WESTERLY...NEWPORT 1215 PM EST TUE FEB 13 2007 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT EST WEDNESDAY NIGHT...
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT EST WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ACROSS THE REGION LATE THIS EVENING.
THE SNOW SHOULD QUICKLY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES BY DAYBREAK WEDNESDAY. THIS WILL HAVE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THE WEDNESDAY MORNING RUSH HOUR. IN FACT...SNOW MAY BE FALLING AT 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR BY EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...LIMITING VISIBILITIES TO A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES. THE SNOW WILL GRADUALLY TRANSITION TO A MIXTURE OF PRECIPITATION DURING EARLY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AS WARMER AIR ALOFT MOVES OVERHEAD. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL EVEN MORE HAZARDOUS...WITH SOME ICING POSSIBLE.
DURING THE EVENING HOURS...ANY MIXED PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE BACK TO SNOW. ANY LOCATIONS THAT GET ABOVE FREEZING DURING THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY COULD EXPERIENCE A FLASH FREEZE DURING THE EVENING AS MUCH COLDER AIR RAPIDLY MOVES IN. NEAR-BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY EVENING AS THE WINDS INCREASE AND HEAVY SNOW BANDING POSSIBLY DEVELOPS. THE SNOW WILL END BY LATER WEDNESDAY NIGHT. BOTH THE MORNING AND EVENING COMMUTES ON WEDNESDAY ARE EXPECTED TO BE TREACHEROUS.
TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 2 TO 5 INCHES BY THE TIME THE SNOW ENDS WEDNESDAY NIGHT...WITH A GLAZE OF ICE POSSIBLE.
BLOWING A DRIFTING SNOW WILL MAY BECOME AN INCREASING THREAT WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY.
STAY TUNED TO NOAA ALL HAZARDS WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR LOCAL MEDIA FOR UPDATED INFORMATION...OR VISIT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON WEBSITE AT WEATHER.GOV/BOSTON.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SNOW AND/OR ICE IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP IN THE AFFECTED AREAS...BUT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT. ANY SNOW OR ICE WOULD MAKE DRIVING AND WALKING DIFFICULT BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS. WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW FREEZING...MOTORISTS NEED TO BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES WHERE SLIPPERY SPOTS CAN EASILY DEVELOP.

Heavy snow and wind ! The bulk of the snow was going south of us - but then wind shifted - so we are getting Lake effect snow from Lake Michigan ! With wind ! :(
They can't seem to be able to decide how much we will get - so just have to wait and see what we get LOL
So far they are guessing 1 to 7 - All ready about 4 on the ground -hard to tell with the drifting

Oh Joy it looks like you are really going to get hit with this one. But I really think it may be your turn. Seems to me, if memory serves, all the big storms for the past 2 winters were "cape and Island" storms. This one is finally a "north and west" storm as snow should be. For those that don't know, there is a weird weather line along the Mass Pike and Rt 495 around Boston. For some reason storms can't cross it. North and west storms hit N/W of those great roads. Cape and Island storms stop just short of the highways and dump everything on us.

Yeah, we're gonna get it.... ...two feet now they are saying, course it COULD be all propaganda for the ski areas.. but maybe not...I made arrangements to be 'on call' at work....I was psyched that I would make some money on 'V-Day' with people going out to dinner, but I suspect most of the reservations we have will now most likely cancel out by tomorrow afternoon...and I do NOT want to drive 25 miles in a blinding snowstorm to NOT make any moola...the girl that said she'd be 'first on' said to me 'well, we are REAL VERMONTERS and a little snow is not going to bother us'....yeah, well she also lives two blocks from the restaruant, NOT 25 miles!!!
And you're right Terri, we are WAY overdue...At least it is coming late in the 'season' so maybe it won't stay very long....
