Rick started riding at the age of five, competing in horse shows. He joined the 4-H at the age of eight and began his strong equine foundation. He was the winner of the prestigious Bob Evan 4-H Horse Award at the age of thirteen. He received a weanling filly for this win. This filly became the Pennsylvania futurity winner three years later.
Rick and his Dad, Dick, own a Paso Fino Breeding and Training facility in Somerset, Pa. where Rick trains all breed horses but specializes in the Gaited Breeds with an emphasis on the Paso Fino Horse. His horses have been competitive in Local, Regional and National level shows and his trail horses have an excellent reputation.
Rick will work with the group of horse and riders each day and then, he will work one on one with individual instruction for each horse and rider team. Auditors are always welcomed at his clinics if you are unable to bring a horse and would just like to listen and see how he works with the many different horse and rider teams.
Bring your own lunch for the tailgate break at noon. Be advised that NO ALCOHOL is permitted on the grounds.
