CELL PHONE vs. BIBLE"
(author unknown)
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible? Makes you stop and think. Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill. And no dropped calls!

If you're at the barn and your horse has a deep gash down it's side, will you open your Bible and hope Jesus shows up, or will you open your cell phone and call your vet?
If your car breaks down on the side of the road, I'll bet your cell phone will get AAA there for assistence, I doubt Jesus will show up with a tow truck or a tool box to get you hame safely.
If your husband or child is injured, will you dial 911 or read Psalms 9:11 and hope for the best????

Pasolady, Thanks for that post. I am forwarding it to my friends. Yes, i would be saying prayers while dialing 911. My faith is in God first. In the end we are all in his hands.

Actually He does show up!
When I 1st got my trailer I practiced putting Mico on it. I got him on, put the butt bar up and stood there congratulating myself on what a wonderful horseperson I was. For some reason Mico got it into his head to back up. He scooched under the Butt bar, the bar rolled and got stuck. He was JAMMMED underneath it right at the base of his back and panicing. My cell phone was where eve I had lost it that morning. I called out to God to help and within 5 seconds some guy I didn't know pulled into my yard with a truck and tools. He dismantled the bar and we rescued Mico. The man was just here to check on the guys in the field working on the fence. Hmmmm, nice timing? Co-incedence? I dont' think so.
Then there was the night of the fire works. I had owned Rio for about 2 weeks. He was a scared timid 3 yr old. My neighbors shot off fireworks. Rio went thought the fence. I could hear him galloping through the woods, over rock walls. It was a dark night, he is a black horse and there is a busy road beyond. And I figured he was probably bleeding todeath from the fence. Again my cell phone was some where with my car keys. Can never find them either. I again called out to the only help I had. Suddenly Rio came outta the woods. Started moving toward me in a back and forth pattern, like someone was herding him. He came to me and I brought him in. NOT a scratch on him!
So do I call the vet or God. I call both (if I can find my cell phone), they work well together.

A short story here. I had a hyster. about a month ago. Lung doctor was afraid my lungs would give me alot of problems. I am also a bleeder. OBG had me to donate my own blood just in case. My church had prayer for me. And also alot of other christian friends.
The morning after my surgery the nurse came in and said. "You have not used any of your pain meds." Told her i am feeling no pain at all. She said she never heard of that.
Doctor came in that morning and asked why I was not using any pain meds. Told him i am having no pain. He sat there and rubbed his head and said. I do not understand. I did cut you. I told him I had alot of prayers. And asked him if I could go home this morning. He said yes.
I went back for a check up a week later. I have used no pain meds. Everything is healing fine. He said I could go back to driving and doing what ever. Just do not over due it. There is only one explanation on this one. Prayers.
When I went in for the check up. Doctor said i broke every record there was. And that he does believe that the prayers had to have something to do with it. Praise the lord. I am a believer.
It has been about one month now. I still have had no pain. I am back to normal. But still trying to keep my pj's on a while longer so i do not have to go out and feed the horses in this awful weather.

Thanks Ladies,
Yes, I also use every talent available the Lord has made, from Doctor's to Mechanic's to my cell phone. I do not talk while driving, but I do pray whenever anything occurs, good or bad. I keep my cell phone and Bible with me at all times.
I have a small NT in my purse and a full Bible in my truck. They have proved to be good reading at anytime I'm required to hurry up and wait. It is nice to read your experiences with prayer and how God answers it even as we use those talents he gives others to help us on our way.
Thanks for sharing!

Iv'e gotta agree...I am praying to Jesus before I am calling the vet. The good Lord provided me with the knowledgeble vet, he provided the money I would need to heal my horse, and the phone I used to call the vet. So he is my first source. ;-) Prayers give me instant gratification, Because God knows what I need well before I need it.
