The purpose of this picture is to have fun and learn how to identify a possible mistreatment of the horses involved. So I hope that no one repeat the same mistakes. Good issue for newbees, you all can point out what you think is good to know and post more pics as well. Lets have fun!!

Caption this picture..

Bet he is wishing he had put a lip chain on her. :-?

I know when I showed "dickanilly" (guess where he got that name) for a friend I always had a lip chain on him and you could find me hanging my weight on the end of the chain too...fired up halter horses..

What this photo is really saying? GET OFF MY REAR END!!!! :D

   That's for sure! You see, the problem in this pic is that an experienced rider, forgot to leave space between two young fillys and that's the result. PS: Thanks for correcting my gramatical errors
Unfortunately in this particular event its not allowed to have a lip chain on. Thats why I recommend to train the colts and none of this would've happend.

The man leading has the pisador wrapped around his hand..very dangerous...

But..back to the filly in front....question...does she have a lot of white in her tail..do you know the lineage?

This colt's name is Conquistador de Riito (Réplica de Majestuoso x Alegría de La Perla). His mother is a daughter of Labriego ... nice bloodlines. His trainer, Edgar Oriz, tells me he will take the colt to the Dulce Sueño Fair next month.

Arabian halter class here we come!!!

I wonder if the pisador is really wrapped around his hand or just being held in the fingers. I can't tell from the picture but wrapping surely is dangerous!

It also looks as though he's let her get a bit far behind him to really be able to keep track of what's going on.

so is it a filly or a colt?
one post said "two fillies"
the other post has him as a colt?

and I feel that the picture has been photo shopped something does not seem right

Is a colt ... his name is Conquistador de Riito and his trainer's name is Edgar Ortiz, (in the picture). The picture was taken by Jo Ann Ferré Crossley during the Feria Agrópolis in San Juan, April 2006

Here in PR, Paso Fino shows allow exhibitors to use as much silver as they want. Still, judges will select winners by their paso and not for any ornaments they wear, that only serves to the view of the persons attending the show.

Hmmm...too much slack in the rope...too much chance for the horse to get wrapped in it...both photos.
Also the top photo shows a dangerous knot in the line. Should be an easy-release or slip knot.

Is that the same horse??? Hope he didn't hurt himself!

Where in the world do you find these wild ones???!!!

Hello everyone,

In the first photo I have noted that the ground is very rocky for colts without shoes.

Regarding the leaping horse and the rolling horse - insect attack, dog, chicken, bird in the tree, cat in the tree or showing off for a lady or just showing off??? I don't know but I don't tie to a tree with low branches. Too risky to try to untie the horse in a panic and too easy to get tangled. Of course if that were one of our horses they would have already broken their halter and come looking for us and a carrot!!   Our Cracker horse will roll trying to take off his saddle and will untie his own lead also.

My dear Motorgypsy, that's what I call a Solid-concrete-house-statement.
As resently as yesterday I was working a grey ppr filly, and the owner just made the same mistake your'e refering and I'm talking about a veteran horseman...unfurtunately some persons "know too much" to listen to other people. :-?

Well So far I found 13 horses... Oh! and one monkey.

I knew there was one hidden on the obvious horses but couldn't find it or the top one in the tree on the left. Oh well - 13 is our lucky number anyway! ;-) ;-) ;-)
