Someone on another list posted this website... http://todd.redwrench.com/
They are in process of putting a LQ in their trailer from scratch, and happened to find this site of someone who documented doing one. It is pretty awesome. Their trailer LQ is the same size as mine, and I sure do wish mine had been done like this. Now I am ready to do some remodelling!! Enjoy the site...it is inspiring. If you like messing with trailer LQ and power tools that is! ;-)

Wouldn't it just be easier to get a bumper pull and a camper for the back of the truck?

jane, it's not about being easy!! it's the thrill of doing something yourself and not paying someone else a lot of money to do it!

Boy, he sure put alot of work into that, but it turned out really nice. Not a weekend project for sure! LOL
No telling how much money he saved, doing it himself. But I would be proud to show it off.

I wish I had seen something like this before I bought my trailer. I have always hated the LQ package they put in it. I could have saved a bundle if I had bought the trailer without the package and done it myself, not to mention how much fun it would have been!
This guy is really nice too. I emailed him about the laminate floor and got a response back right away. I think I may use my leftover laminate in my trailer. Then rip out the cabinet. Then... ;-)

That is a wonderful site. That person has waaay more carpentry and electrical skills than I possess. One thing to think about. If you do your own LQ be aware that the resale value is less than with a factory built LQ. The reason is "Code". Electricity, plumbing, etc. will all be to code when the certified factory does it. I'm not saying it better or worse, I'm just saying the truth. I know I would be hesitant to buy a "home-done" LQ because of this. JMO

You could always get the home job inspected as you go and get it approved or certified..... You would just have to get the standards that trailers have to be built to.....
