Like Trudy, we've been having great weather to ride and do things with our Pasos. Here's some pics taken of our 2002 pinto filly, Novela de MiLe, playing indoors with our new trainer, Patrick Dodd.

We have been so fortunate in finding talented young people just starting out in their training career and willing to work with Paso Fino horses over the heckling of many of their friends. We met Patrick when he was an intern for the farm where we take Dos to be collected. He was taking equine management classes at a community college. When he was eight years old he would go to Civil War reenactments with his father. He is a member of the 112th Illinois Cavalry. He loves to bombproof horses--literally! He's also been in two movies, the Patriot with Mel Gibson, and a new documentary coming out soon about the Mormons in Nauvoo, IL.
There are many good horse trainers out there who can work with Paso's who may have no experience with Pasos, but who can still talk "horse" and have a curious and open mind about different breeds of horses. Patrick loves the spirit, intelligence, and sensitivity of the Paso--besides the smooth gait!
We have known people who wanted to take their new Paso to a Paso Fino trainer. Their primary purpose was to trail ride. Their horse would come back to them never having been on a trail and/or too hot for them to handle anymore. We know of one Paso trainer who said they could train for trail because they have a ditch in front of their house--seriously!
And yes, some horses by there very nature and intelligence, come along so quickly and willingly, that they can make a trainer look like he's phenomenal.

Yes, she is available for sale, although, as I get older and see these horses progress in training, I am tempted to keep a horse like this for myself! I've been known to do that anyway
Got Brio?
