I just watched a session with my new trainer and my colt. I was amazed! She did things totally different than I have seen or read before. But the colt was relaxed, curious, attentive, and never broke into a sweat. He did yawn a lot....and his ears never stopped moving back and forth.
At the end of the lesson...I think she could have put a halter on him, easily. This might just work out....
She will come back Sunday and then, every other day, till end of next week when we will be taking my colt to her place, so she can work with him every day. I'll try to take some pictures of my horse. He looked sooo good, standing square with his neck arched, ears forward....

I really dont know how to phrase this and most likely will get my FAN CLUB to attack me jejejejejejejeeje.  ;-)
But, I always tell everyone if they can that is, to OBSERVED their horse being trained (worked), if they feel uncomfortable or uneased, most likely are right!!!!!! dont let them fool you.
I am glad you approved your trainer and by the sound, your horse did too.........

Helene...lets get some pics of him on Sunday so people can see what a "typey" boy he is....from wavy mane to pretty head, to nicely marked pinto!
Oh, Yes, pictures on Sunday! we have to see what this little Wily coyote looks like! i'm SURE he must weigh 1200lbs, have a snakey attitude and run all over people. LOL!
and don't forget pictures of that little filly you're working on! Please?

Now, I'm going to have to brush this little fellow's mane! I haven't touched him since I let the other people handle him. Wish me luck!....Nah...I've done it many times. Might get me a rag bone (like the ones you get for dogs) and stick it into his mouth....Or just sneak up on him while he is eating....
The little filly is looking better and better. She still has an immense coat on her, even though she is shedding loads of hair and she has quite a temper now....By the way....she is now registered with PFHA. I've taken some pictures of her running and she is quite a pistol.

Bruiser thinks he wants to be a nipper too. Just have a brush in both hands...when he goes to nip, let him nip the currry comb. If he holds it, wiggle it a little. He'll figure out that nipping the curry isn't nearly as pleasurable as having it scratch his butt and remove hair.
You get into a hitting/nipping match with him, you'll be playing the same game as your neighbor.

I actually did brush him a few minutes ago. Went into his corral with a bat while he was eating. At first, he wanted to gnaw on the bat. I let him do it, scratched his tongue with it, then he went back to eating.... and I got his mane (which is, by the way, about 2 feet long now) untangled and brushed. He didn't try to nip me once.... even when he put his head up and I brushed his forelock (of course his mouth was full with hay)....
Terry, thanks so much for the compliments on the colt.
This is a little guy. Maybe 13.2, 13.3 hds tall, 750lbs or so, but real compact with a good-sized rear end and he is VERY quick and agile. In my opinion, he has one of the prettiest heads I've seen on a Paso. The huge mane and forelock accentuate his face even more.
