I might be a proud owner of a 10 acre ranch in North Dakota on April 20th! THey accepted my offer and were in process!

My dream was to move out west to Washington Mtns, but I havent been able to make that happen, just no work there for me..

I have my little sister living w/me now, 3 horses that are boarded, and we live in a small downstairs apt in MN... I have a great job, but been doing this for 6yrs and things need to change..

I still need to get a job in ND, but have 15 credit unions to try to find work. Plan is to buy, job look, but keep my current job and move out in the fall hopefully.

The house needs some upgrading, but is pretty big! 2800sq ft. NEw addition of a master bedroom, nice big rooms, and open kitchen.. Lots of out buildings, including 2nd heated garage w/work benches, also a office attached, fully serviced butcher shop, nice huge barn w/4 stalls.

Big pasture sections, 3 some w/trees too.. It is the most treed place I found in ND!lol

Fence is all set up ready to go. Nice frute grove, huge garden w/raspberrys and grapes!

I cant wait to start updating it, I love that kind of work especially when it is progress on something I will reap the benifits of.. My dad will move in w/his huge 5th wheel trailer and start major projects for me until I go up ono the weekends, which will save tons on $$..

It is only 1mile from the Grasslands! lots of free range ridin!

Now, that I could live with ! LOL Your pic of riding in the grasslands reminded me of when we use to ride when I was a kid - none of the farmers had a fit - you just kept to the tractor trails on the side of the fields . Now you can't go anywhere in a field around here ! Wasn't so much the horse riders that ruined it for us - it was the snowmobilers that didn't keep to the trails that were laid out for them :realmad

Pasofan ... snow is maligned too often. It is not half bad. (It's the cold temperatures that are the pits.)

I really like the look of the new place! Congrats!

Congratulations...it looks lovely! Now we'll get some of those same awesome pictures from you that we get from Debbie S.

It looks super nice...I know you will love it, and just not boarding your horses and paying rent will make your house payment! Way to go!

Thanks guys!

Yep, lots of fun landscaping planned... Were gonna build a deck off the kitchen, have to make a hole in the wall for french doors.. ;-)

I cant wait to see what is in that garden, so far we know:
-Asperigus
-Raspberrys
-Grapes
-Rubarb
-Corn....

Plum tree
apple tree
pear tree!

The garden has it's own well hooked right up at the corner too!

I sure hope this all works out for us!

Jen,

I can wait to see the pictures from your move in! The place looks wonderful! I'm so excited for you! What was the major selling point? The one that absolutely decided it for you? From what you said there were many good points. ...and a great price.

How many horses do you have? Four stalls? I'd have four horses...lol Yep, that's what I warned Tony about when we bought our home. Only buy a house with as many stalls as you'd like to see filled.....lol

Yep, I cant wait! I am still horse poor, but now will be house poor too!! yyiipppeee....lol April 20th cant come soon enough..

I dont know what the selling point was, I guess price, plus it had all the amenities I needed... Fence already in was HUGE! The house has wonderful potential, isnt bad at all, jsut needs paint inside, new carpet, gonna put slate tile in the bathrooms, entrances and kitchen.. need to update bathrooms, stain cabinets, paint walls. that kind of stuff..

All things I will love doing to my OWN place!!

One thing I do worry about is a job, please pray that the right job comes along before winter 2007!

:D
