Oh no.

I have a Back Country Horsemen meeting tonight so came in early to shower and wash my hair. Was just drying it and the phone rings, neighbor. Her children (aka space aliens) were playing with their kite (aka space ship) and it crashed in my pasture. They WERE reelling it in to rescue it when GUESS WHO thought he'd investigate and STEAL it!!! Yep. Bruiser. When I went outside he was racing around wildly with his new prize, chasing Rosie and having a BALL! Well, believe me, I was torn, because I REALLY wanted to come in and get the camera and record it for ya'll....but one of the kids was crying. So I retrieved it ("rescued" might imply that it was still a kite) and returned it over the fence.

Poor Bruiser. He wasn't at all happy about giving up his new toy. :(

Life around here is NEVER boring.

You will have to buy Bruiser his own kite!! I wonder what he would have done if a hot air balloon landed in his back yard like Paintedhorizons?? I have a feeling he woulda liked it, lol.

I agree with Beth, you missed your window of opportunity.

I think that Bruiser had a LOT more fun with it then the space aliens. I watched them before I headed for the hair dryer and they couldn't get it off the ground, then it would dive in their pasture. This was how I knew they were space aliens with a ship...the horses told me. Buddy and Bruiser were at the fence waiting to play with the visitors, while Diablo and Santiago hid near the barn, guarding the mares ;-) . Diablo ALWAYS recognizes aliens.

The kids were pretty frustrated with it BEFORE it found the fateful crash site. And I'm pretty sure that Brusier will 'lie in wait' for any future space craft visits. That was FUN!

Bruiser is going to have a riot with the neighbor kids this summer. Wonder what will be next?
keep the camera at the ready, Carol!

My gosh, that horse is a riot!! You have to get him a kite and show him how to fly it!!

Great now Bruiser is gonna have to go for therapy after encountering aliens. How brave of him to try to show them how kites really work.

I would have loved to see a video of that. You could always buy the kid another kite ;-)

Buy THOSE kids a kite??? No way!!! I just spent 30 minutes between rain storms picking up their TRASH that blows up against my fence. I don't want Bruiser to eat any of it and require surgery.

Trashy people! :rant

Of course, they have 'donated' several balls to Bruiser's collection, and we might get a bright green snow saucer if the wind gives one reallyy good gust to pop it over the fence!

Well, new storm has thunder and lightning with it...time to unplug the computer for a bit. LATERS!!!

Yes, I agree with the others....you should have taken video and let the kids cry! That would have been an awesome video....$100,000 Funniest video winner down the drain there!

My neighbors' kid "donates" several balls to my horses too, unfortunately they are golf balls! I am so worried they will step on them and hurt themselves, or eat them.

Dave said something to the parents while the kid was standing there and he swore that he didn't do it....about a week later we caught him in the act!

Carol, That reminds me of my trail ride last week with my boy, Hijo. My husband has started to paramotor. He has one of those giant nylon wings and a motor on his back. He flew the 6 miles to where I board last week and came down to say high. Hijo had no trouble although the horses in pastures were more disturbed. Once he flew off into the distance we could still hear him and then Hijo became a little edgy because he could hear it and not see it. Someday we'll arrange a photo.

Ok, so I wasn't a kid, but finding my favorite pair of expensive Italian leather heels get mauled by my dog Summer when she was a puppy will be burned into my memory forever.
