Diane is doing a geat job trying to get the ball rolling in non show activities. Gettysburg trail ride May 19th and Fair Hill July 14th.She has only been a PFHA member for a few years.
I was thinking I would be able to go on this G burg ride but Steve already has in for vacation that weekend for a bird conference..but he said its only in Harrisbburg and the Saturday Program isnt that interesting so he might work for me !! I hope!

Here is the latest activity update. Notice that I wrote "Activity" rather
than "Parade." In addition to gathering a list of possible parades, I am also
trying to organize two trail rides. One of the rides is planned for Gettysburg, the
other for Fair Hill in Maryland. I am in desperate need of trail bosses for
these trail rides. If you're available and willing to help out, please let me
know. I simply don't have the experience to do it myself. As you read down the list,
you will find 1 additional activity with a firm date: the Hunterdon HorseXpo
Parade of Breeds. If you want to participate, the contact information is below.
I inserted reminders abou t the Harrisburg, PA Holiday Parade and all other Parades that occur later in the year.
Again, if you learn of Parades in your area that would be suitable for our group, please send the information to me and I'll post it. Also, if you ride in a parade and have digital photographs, please send me your choice photos and I'll post what space and file size allow. BJ Schuler has added a "Parades" Page to the Mason Dixon PFHA homepage. You can check there for news and views.
If you did not receive my previous posting about the trail rides and want the links for more info., let me know and I'll send you the previous mailing.

The Wissahickon Day Horse Parade
Valley Green (Northern Philadelphia suburb)
Information can be had from the Valley Green Website ( www.greenvalleyinn.com )
I have the required forms to enable you to participate in the Parade. Please let me know if you want me to fax them. The digitized files are HUGE. Last year, a Paso won one of the classes in the Fun Show. It's a very pleasant ride along the Wissahickon Creek on a paved surface; 5 mi. round trip. Several Devon driving competitors turn up for this event. It's quite a sight. Note that you'll need to wear a helmet. This year, lunch is provided free of charge in the meadow for all riders.

in this event.
We need a trailboss to lead the way. If you can do it, please volunteer.
May 19 - 20
Horses are needed for the parade of breeds at the Hunterdon HorseXpo,
May 19-20 at the Hunterdon County Fairgrounds. Last year we had vendors
and visitors from throughout the Delaware Valley region.
The parade of breeds will be held at about 9 a.m. each day. Limited
stalls are available for horses to stay and be seen by the public the
rest of the day. The stalls are pipe stalls (like a round pen but 10' by
10' square.) Horses will be spread out throughout four barns so there
will be little contact between horses.
You will be responsible for watching your horse throughout the day.
Coggins and health certificates will be required.
