I thought this was kinda neat, this is our Saloon, with some of the campers horses tied up out front while the riders were inside.

Love Valley NC is a town that is limited to horse traffic only. No vehicals allowed. One of these days Su and I are gonna get up there for a weekend. And the way things have been going around latley maybe just stay.

I love that picture, very cool. It kind of reminds me of the saloon at a place up north where they have rodeos. It's a shame they didn't set it up so you could tie horses there.

The Ranch is in Melder, La. south of Alexandria. It is a very neat place, I love working here, talk about a fun job (at least most of the time, last night was not one of those times). If anyone wants info go to

The "Love Valley" western resort is in the foothills of the NC mts...

I haven't been, but have heard it can get rowdy there sometimes.

Wow Cathie, how very OPEN MINDED!!! They must not have LAWS against drinking and riding like we do here.

That is just the coolest picture.

While it is our SALOON, we don't serve alcohol. We live in a dry ward, which really doesn't make any difference as we wouldn't serve it anyway. But, our campers do BYOB, and we have dances inside and there is usually a card game or two going on. I am a firm believer that drinking and riding don't mix anymore than drinking and driving. To often I see the animal suffer for the riders drunkenness.

What a cool place! I keep telling hubby we need a hitching post at our bar. There is a hitching post down the street, I haven't got brave enough to ride Listo on the overpass over the Interstate!

Here's a cute little 'general store and bar' just across the Wyoming border. I love this place. We always stop here on our way to camp at Cook Lake, WY. It's pretty common to see horses tied out front.

Those places are so neat!!

I've been told there is a little restaurant that you can ride to in Lecanto, just north of me, and tie up your horse.

I think I would be too paranoid that someone would take off with my horse I wouldn't be able to enjoy the stop! I worry enough when we are stopped eating and they are in the trailer!

Love Valley is fun and neat...maybe a little too fun at times.

I have many many stories from my trip there a few years ago. I think I have some pics I can dig up too.

We have never made it to Love Valley, but friends went once, I believe it was over Easter Weekend. They said there were about 10,000 horses there. The photo's she sent me showed the streets so full of horses, I don't know how they rode in and out. At the time, there were no facilities to camp, don't know about now, everyone camped in an open field outside of town. Hopefully, one day we will get there to ride.
