Sorry for the late notice.
Next trail ride May 12
Charlie Elliott Wildlife Management Area Jasper County
Ride starts at 10 am
Bring your lunch for after the ride
Directions: from I-75 exit 205 (Hwy 16) go east on highway 16 towards Jackson. Stay on highway 16. Remember it makes a turn in Jackson in front of the Piggly Wiggly Shopping Center. After making the turn, go 7 miles to the large bridge that crosses the Occmulgee River. Turn left onto Jackson lake road just after the bridge. Follow Jackson Lake road until it makes a dead end into Hwy 11 (about 10 miles). Turn left on Hwy 11 and go to second entrance to Charlie Elliott on right (5 miles). This entrance will have a large brick and cement sign and is at Marbin Farm Road. After turning right on Marbin Farm Road look for the Multi Use Trail sign on right. It is located directly across the street from the GERL facility.

Well dang you. We would have loved to come and ride with you but have plans to go to Jake Mtn.
Also last I heard was that Charly Eliot was closed for logging, I am not sure if it has been re-opened. Hope you all have a good ride.

Boyd, it is open. This was our first trip there. The trails are not challenging, very wide, greaat footing. One small water crossing that Favio decided to LEAP across both coming and going. The entire loop was only 1.5 hours and we walked and corto'd a little bit.

We had a nice ride. We were meeting about 14 from our saddle club, I called to let them know we were running late, and they left with-out us anyway :-? . Donald has hurt his back so he rode my mare since she's such a cadillac, and I rode Favio (the little black pony). Our friend Renata rode her 26 year old gelding Count.

It is a nice place for pasos to ride. We usually do one loop and then water the horses eat some lunch and then ride it the other direction.
