Some of you may remember when Terry went to the Flying M auction and purchased a filly on my behalf. I finally got around to taking some pictures today (with my new mother's day camera) and wanted to show the difference a couple of years have made.

Thanks, Carol. If not the best purchase, it was a good one. It has been a long road. Porcelana has been quite a challenge, but anything worthwhile usually is.

I'm sure your little girl will turn out great, Pasomom. You take very good care of your animals. She already has a good start, a very nice filly.

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks.
Terry was the one who could envision what she would become. I had my doubts, but then again I never had a 3 year old that had just come off the range before.
My friends cannot believe it is the same horse.

No, Terry, I don't show her. She just does not like the ring. But, she is the best trail horse around my place. She is very well gaited, confident on the trail and moves so easy she can go all day.

I love her butt! In my mind, that is the perfect paso butt.
The rest of her is pretty darn nice too! :D

Thanks again, everyone. This is a picture of Porcelana's right side. She has a beautiful tail, but unfortunately did not get the mane/forelock gene

Jan,
This horse is the spitting image of my black paso (minus 12 years). I got him from a person who did not have his papers. What is her breeding and where did she come from?
She is beautiful!

Thank you very much. You should post some pictures of your boy.
My mare is #38537 Flying M Porcelna. Hopefully this is a link to her pedigree:

Jan,
Here are 2 (not so great for conformation) pictures of Sly. Please remember he is 20 so he is quite a few years older than yours. Thanks for posting that pedigree. I hate that I won't ever know what lines he comes from, because I love his personality and complete willingness to please. He has been the best trailhorse I have ever owned. At some point in his past, I think the owner previous to me, they allowed him to trocha and trot and therefore I have had a hard time with this gait. I had Vicki (massage therapist for horses) come out and she worked on his back and he is able to get into gait and is becoming consistent again.
Your mare is absolutely beautiful. I hope you have many great years with her!

Sorry for not answering earlier. I was at the Midwest Classic the last four days.
Thank you Carol & Bridget.
Holly, you are right they look alot alike. Sly looks like such a sweet boy. And, twenty isn't old for a Paso. You should have many good years together. And, look how good he is with the kids. You are very lucky to have him.
