Mine just keeps pouring fuel on the fire about forgetting the old family and only remembering the new. I keep getting emails like this about my step brother. I totally glad that he gets to spend time with Dad but they seem to forget that when I was growing up we never saw them because they were trying make it and make a name for themselves. UGGGGGHHHH.
This is the most recent email I got, like 10 minutes ago. I have already gotten three of them today.
ABF Freight System partners with Bill Elliott Racing to sponsor
young Chase Elliott, no. 9 bandolero bandit
Cornelius, N.C. (May 17, 2007) – Following a successful debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March, ABF Freight System, Inc.® is proud to announce a season-long sponsorship of the No. 9 Bandolero Bandit driven by 11-year-old Chase Elliott, son of NASCAR Champion Bill Elliott.
“We were very impressed with Chase during our first race at Atlanta, and we’re excited to partner with Bill Elliott Racing on the famous No. 9 for the Thursday Thunder Series. It is clear that Chase has inherited his father’s charisma and racing talent, and he has a bright future ahead of him,” said Danny Loe, ABF Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “ABF is proud to be on board for the next generation of this legendary racing family.”
Chase is looking forward to representing his first full-time sponsor, “I’m very excited to have ABF as a sponsor this year on my No. 9 Bandolero car. I’m thankful ABF has given me this chance, and I will do my best to race competitively and safely to represent ABF.”
Since retiring from full-time driver status following the 2004 season, Bill Elliott has combined his passion for racing with his commitment to family through the Bill Elliott Racing Driver Development Program with son Chase and nephew Trey Poole (age 18). “I am thrilled that ABF has provided Chase this opportunity to showcase his talents. It is moving that today’s sponsors believe in the young and growing talent of tomorrow’s stars. Teaming up with ABF, an exceptional sponsor already established in the higher ranks of stock car racing, is an outstanding opportunity. We are looking forward to a very long and successful relationship between Bill Elliott Racing and ABF Freight System.”
Chase is following closely in his famous father’s footsteps. In 2006, in only his first full season of racing, Chase won five races and five poles on his way to capturing the Colorado Sprint Championship in the Mini Max division. In the 80 cc Shifter Kart division, Chase competed against older drivers and captured one win and three poles and finished an impressive third in the championship standings.
So far in 2007, in his debut in the Bandolero Bandits Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March, Chase finished 6th out of 19 cars. He raced again in the series in April and improved to 3rd out of 11. Chase also competed in one race in each of the Mini Max and 80 cc Shifter Kart divisions in the Colorado Sprint Championships and won both events.
This summer Chase will compete in the No. 9 ABF Bandolero Bandit in the Thursday Thunder Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The series kicks off May 31 and runs through August 2. Chase will also run in a limited number of events in the Summer Shootout Series at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, NC, that competes Tuesday nights from June 12 through August 8. Chase’s No. 9 will carry associate sponsorship from the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, the Dawsonville Pool Room and Aaron’s Sales & Lease Ownership.
ABF also sponsors the Braun Racing No. 10 ABF U-Pack Moving Toyota Camry driven by Dave Blaney in the NASCAR Busch Series, who currently sits third in the championship standings.

About Bill Elliott Racing: Hard work and a passion for the art of racing turned an eager young driver from a small Georgia town into a NASCAR Winston Cup champion. But, it was the strength and support of his family that first launched Bill Elliott into racing. These are the same principles that Bill has decided to build upon as he develops the young talent in his family.
George Elliott, the family patriarch, along with his wife Mildred, started bringing their three boys; Ernie, Dan and Bill, to the racetrack as mere children. The whole family was passionate about racing and it wasn’t long before the Elliott boys were behind the wheel. During events at local tracks like the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, the Elliott’s could see their youngest son Bill had a raw, natural talent for the sport.
Since 1976, Elliott has participated in over to 756 Cup series races, achieved 44 wins, and collected 55 career poles. Bill also has participated in well over 100 combined races in Busch, Truck, IROC and home town dirt track races. With all of his incredible success, he still remains humble, stating, "We are all motivated by certain things. Of course, winning is one of them, but for me, the fans have always been the biggest motivational factor. I've said this over and over-our fans are the backbone of this sport and they are the reason we are able to do what we do. “Bill Elliott's devotion to both his sport and his supporters equals his talent, making him a legend with both his team and his fans. Bill became the All-time Most Popular Driver by being winning the award that is voted on by the fans, a record 16 times before retiring from its eligibility in 2002.
Elliott has combined his passion for racing with his commitment to family through the Bill Elliott Racing Team, based in Dawsonville, Georgia. The driver line-up includes Bill’s son Chase Elliott and his nephew Trey Poole. In 2007, Chase will compete in the Legends Racing Bandolero Series while Trey will drive in the Semi Pro Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway and select events at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
