ok.. if you had to guess the likelihood of either of these houses being haunted... what would you say??

The "talking house" as I called it.. had one former owner that claim it is haunted...

The "cottage style" house has had two former owners to claim it is haunted...

What do you think?

I didn't vote because there wasn't a choice to say they are both haunted!

Well...you can add this to your list of "haunted" houses...the house that I live in...just an old Texas ranch house with a sprawling front porch...

Here is the house new in 1923...after the first one...also a two story, burnt to the ground in 1922.

This was the gathering place in the early 1900's...being the only real "house" in the area...the other's being no more than one or two room sharecropper's cabins. The neighborhood families would come to play dominos and cards in the spacious living room...it was the "gathering place" then...as it is now...
When we came here, there was such a sharecropper's cabin out back near where the new barn stands. We were told that a family of black folks lived there. A couple and five children. We tore it down eventually but we still have a lot of the wood and some artifacts.
We have been told that this family in our house was well to do...signified by the men's suits in the old photo. Probably how they could afford to entertain back in the depression days. The black family could've been freed slaves who just decided to stay on after the abolishment of slavery.

The top level was added on in 1983 by the previous owners of the house. I would like to do some remodeling myself...with a promise to the ghostly inhabitants that I would not drastically change the house... ;-)

What about this one?

It served as a schoolhouse for a little while.

It looks awfully dark and creepy to me, not to mention it is covered in spiderwebs. ICK!

Thanks Carol and Mel for adding your pictures. I love them both!!

I have a picture of my house too back when it was first moved here in the 50's. I will try to find it and post it.

According to one of the previous owners who did some researching into my house's history.. a bootlegger used to own it before it was moved here. One night, while being robbed... he shot the man.... in what is now my living room. That might explain why everyone since ...that has lived in this house.. hears those loud footsteps every now and then.. like someone is in a real hurry to leave..

Jas, I just realized that the "haunted house", the first one, looks just like the house in the movie "Monster House". If you have not seen it, go rent it.
