That Rosalita has me SO wraped!!I was just looking at her yesterday really admiring her...her head, long curly mane forelock and tail and just everything and just thinking how beautiful and perfect she is to me and how lucky I am to have such a beauty.I can just stare at her for hours while swinging on the porch swing sipping my tea.The thought of how beautiful she will be when she's all grown up just excites me and when she gives me hugs or brings her nose up so close to smell and breathe on me as she often does it melts me.Other horses may live on fancier farms but there are definitely no other horses in the world that get even a drop more of love and companionship than my girls do.After all, they give me so much just being themselves that I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't feel I had returned as much love as they had given me.It is SO neat to be able to live such a childhood and life long dream!!Moniece

Isn't it GREAT?!?!?!?!?!

There is nothing better than sitting on the porch, out in a chair etc and just enjoying the 'view'.......going out to the pasture and hanging out......giving scratches etc......

My example from yesterday -

I was in the pasture, had the 'halter' and was going to ride Lunita.....walked up to her, gave her scratches (she sweet spot is her shoulders!) - put the halter on, got on her (bareback) and let her walk around a little - didn't do too much because my balance is off from a sinus infection/cold.......got off, took the halter off and she stood there for more scratches.....I then chased her away.....then walked right back up to her and she let me love on her some more!

That is a great feeling.

I remember watching Flicka on when I was a kid... and thinking it be great to have that kind of friendship with a horse. I wanted one for my very own.. but I would have to wait. Then I watched my first Ky Derby.. and Secretariat ran... I never could have dreamed that one day.. I would be standing next to him... getting my picture made with him.. Yesterday afternoon, Jasper ran to the fence when he saw me pull up. I hollered to him a quick hello.. and he stood there staring at me while I went to the field to pick up the hay. When we were putting it in the barn, he left his buddies and came and watched us. After we were finished, I noticed he had moved over to the shade tree and was standing all by himself. I thought to myself.. I hope something isnt wrong with Jasper.. he's standing there all by himself.. that's odd. When I turned and started to walk in the other direction, I heard his whinnying.. and turned to look.. and he was coming down my way.. in a hurry. He wanted to make sure that I would take some time out to see him. I guess he thinks of me as his best friend too... thats the greatest honor... in my humble opinion... that any horse owner can have. :D

I know our guys have us "wrapped around their little finger" as my mom used to say. Adriel is our pocket princess. And she was such a HORRIBLE filly. Moniece your girl is gorgeous and they are indeed amazing. It took me over 50 years to Chinook, my dream horse but it was worth the wait!!!

Agreed. 200%.

Anytime things are at a "low", I just remember that I OWN HORSES, and that is all I ever wanted since I was a wee little pup. To me, life just doesn't get much better than that. Every single day with my ponies is a beautiful thing.
