That sounds GREAT but we fully plan to BE THERE!!!

You guys better keep reminding us though. We can't plan too far in advance at our age!!

It would be easier if it were in Tampa though but JAX is OK. Maybe we'll fly. We were very impressed with Spirit airlines Atlanta to Las Vegas and back. Cheap and very efficient and on time. Miserable - yes. The seats are just too small. But the plane was quiet, the air, clean and they even gave you a choice of sodas or juice. Now is that service or what???? And all for $200 round trip per person. Not bad for that far. We couldn't have driven it for that price.

Can't wait for all these great shows!!!!

That is FANTASTIC!!!

For any of you who haven't been to the Asheville show it is really great! Indoor arena, great little cafe in the arena, very well done, lots of vendors, lots of gorgeous paso finos!!!

Be aware though - some of the barns are about 100 feet down a very steep hill from the arena so wear comfortable shoes if you plan to barn hop. Remember Asheville is in the mountains so you flatlanders be forewarned!!

Here's a press release about the Asheville show. I can't wait!! Look for me running around like a headless chicken, with a big grin. I'll be stabled with Pat and Cese Figueroa, Tuckaway Farm.

Silver Anniversary of one of the most exciting Paso Fino Horse Shows in the Country

The rhythmical cadence of thundering hoof beats will slice the air at the 25th Annual Piedmont Classic Paso Fino Horse Show in Fletcher, NC June 20-24th, 2007. Intense but friendly competition will abound at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center, as one of the largest Paso Fino Horse shows in the country commences, celebrating the timeless elegance and classic beauty of the Paso Fino Horse. Selected by the Spanish Conquistadors for their unique smooth ride, the Paso Fino horse is an exciting horse to own, enjoy, and compete. Equally at home on the trails or in the show ring, Paso Fino horses have a unique, evenly spaced four beat gait, which provides a bounce-free, incredibly smooth ride. Just as the Spanish Conquistadors sojourned many miles, Paso Fino enthusiasts travel across the country and from as far away as Puerto Rico to attend this prestigious show, which hosts 500 - 600 horses each year. Rich with history, Asheville has hosted the Grand National Championship Show for the Paso Fino Horse Association in years past. The Piedmont Classic, hosted by Piedmont Paso Fino Horse Association, is considered by many to be the “mini-nationals”, due to the quality and quantity of excellent Paso Fino horses from around the country. The exhibitors and spectators that come to Asheville to participate in the show always enjoy all the delights the mountains have to offer. Asheville is one of the most popular sites in the country for a Paso Fino horse show.

Saturday night’s program is the Piedmont Classic "Extravaganza". The evening will include electrifying competition, a flag presentation opening the evening activities, entertainment, and the grand finale. The grand finale will feature some of the best stallions and mares in our breed on parade in the arena, with a reception following the event, inviting you to get up close to these spectacular horses. Live television coverage from Channel 21 Fox network will also be scheduled during the show. Admission is FREE to all spectators, though donations will be accepted at the door to benefit Mountin’ Hopes Therapeutic Riding Center, a non-profit organization in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Certified by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), Mountin’ Hopes specializes in providing services for those with special needs and personal challenges in creative ways. The arena will be jam-packed with equine vendors, and will feature several raffles and auctions, including an auction for a beautiful 2 year-old chestnut Paso Fino filly, Dreamcatcher de Flat Rock, donated by Paul and Ali Casey of Flat Rock Farm. Classes begin at 1pm on Wednesday, and 8am each morning thereafter. There will be evening classes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 – 10 pm.
