I know this isn't overly severe weather and we are happy to see the much needed rain. News is talking flooding and tornados.
Can everyone please check in ad give a status report on how things are in your area? Before things get really bad later in the year I am hoping we start getting into a good habit of checking in so everyone will know how things are.
I know during Katrina it was a good thing we all stayed in touch so when the time came folks from the board were able to act quickly. I was amazed at how fast people responded to start helping Linda York and then we ended up with continuos help so we were able to help more than we anticipated.
So if we can start checking in and get into the habit it would be great. My son told me he may have found a semi truck body I can use for extra storage for supplies so I can contact Diane, my friend who helped us with funding and supplies during Katrina. She is a non-paso person and she stepped up to the plate to help us.

We are close to Texas.....and can put up several horses if they can buy hay and tend a couple humans in a guest room.

Guess I will go start the generator and make sure it is ok.

Ok...as I've posted before...have an 8 acre pasture available for five or so horses...without shelter. Have four stalls open in the barn. Can handle a couple of stallions for a short time.
Have a guest room in the house or hookups for a trailer with LQ. Leila's got my information if you need me.
We are 150 miles from Corpus and a 150 miles from Houston. Enough inland that we rarely get the dangerous stuff. Ok so we were hit by a tornado this spring but that was NOT in hurricane season. ;-)
We seldom flood.
I'll say a prayer for you, Linda...Lord knows you don't need anymore, girl.

Leila's right. We've done some great work in getting supplies to people. One example was our "relay" during one storm. One person would drive supplies to meet another person who would add to them and head out to meet another and so on. We managed to move goods though the whole state of Florida and I don't think anyone had to drive more than a few hours.
If we know you're in a storm-hit area, we can get to you within a day or two! But we have to know you're there and we have to have an idea of who (people and animals) we need supplies for. So listen to Leila and check in with her!

You all know I'm in central Florida, and ready for action if need be. Hopefully this storm will slow way down and go lower into Mexico.....Sorry Mexico......If it continues at this speed, TX< LA< MISS need to be making some serious plans NOW.
Linda Y, if that storm is heading your way....load that generator up and head out of town. We'll come help you move if we need too. If that thing continues with the strength and speed it is at now, you need to get out of DODGE! I just heard the latest tonight....they have been flying over that booger tonight and they haven't offically upgraded it yet, but in more than one pass thru in different directions and areas, they have clocked winds at 156 PMH>....thats Cat 5!!!!!!! This is a serious boy here. Hopefully it will wind down before making land fall, but there is plenty of room to re-intensify before hitting the cost of the gulf.
